How come Georgia runs it up the middle for a win, but we get stuff 3 times???
I guess cause that's our only short yardage play?

A&M ran it from the first quarter to the 4th quarter. It doesn't take a genius to know what A&M was going to run!HTownMan87 said:

I formation, everybody in tight, a quarterback whose throwing arm is so badly dinged he dropped it to his side immediately after the snap and handed off with his left hand. Everyone in the stadium knew the play call. I haven't seen the replay, but it sure looked at the snap like the t.u. defensive alignment didn't look very much like the one that stuffed A&M.

For everyone saying Moss being out prevented our 4th down conversions against Texas
I agree Moss being healthy would have been very helpful. But I recall Daniels getting hit soon after the handoff. I really don't think the RB was the main issue down the stretch.
Look how hard Etienne was running & then go back & look how hard Daniels was running.HTownMan87 said:

UGA held and set the edges to keep the t-sip DEs / LBs from crashing in to disrupt / make the play.

Great response, I agree. I think Klein can be very creative at times, but sometimes he empties the well of a play too much.Bluecat_Aggie94 said:
It's as if people thin "running it up the middle" is a play call.
There are literally 100 different ways to attack a defense "up the middle" and I'm quite confident that if you analyze our running game all season, the majority of our rushing yards came "up the middle." Same would be true for probably every team in college football. "up the middle" is the fastest and most effective way to attack a defense running the ball.
But when you don't use creativity in your approach and are completely predictable... you get what we got.
It felt like the old high school football coach yelling at his team "if we can't move the football 1 foot even when they know its coming... we don't deserve to win.." And that dogmatic, stubborn approach got us what it got us.
Simply not true.Cojack said:

I would argue we got too creative/cute with our calls against Texas...Bluecat_Aggie94 said:

And Klein wasn't aware of this???
No, we ran it up the middle in previous games and failed then too.
When you scout a team you look for tendencies. When it is third and less than one, or fourth and less than one we've ALWAYS ran it between the tackles.
In my opinion if you're going to play four downs, on third and short you take a chance every now and then and Go deep so in the future you keep the other team honest.
