8-4 in year 1 isn't inherently disappointing; it's HOW it happened.
7-1 (5-0) after the LSU game, sole position of 1st in the SEC. And we proceed to drop all three SEC games in November to finish 8-4 (5-3). Auburn loss is infuriating.
Literally win ONE of SC, Auburn, and Texas and we're playing in Atlanta. Couldn't do it. After the LSU game, I truly thought 10-2 was the floor; Auburn and NM State were going to be wins, and we'd win at least one of Texas and SC.
Maybe losing Moss really exposed a thin offense that was patched together with duct tape. But it's become apparent that Missouri and LSU aren't as good as we thought, so maybe this team just didn't have it. I'm not going to discount the Florida win though- that was a good road win against a decent team.
