Despite the loss last week, I think Reed has shown a lot of improvement over the season. Look at how he played at home vs Bowling Green and how he played at Auburn in a hostile environment just last week, especially while being behind by 3 TDs. He went from just using his legs to being able to pass a lot when he has to.

Reed still has a lot to improve, but the fact that he's been able to do so as a backup QB during the season is a great breath of fresh air.

He's definitely improved a lot. Still has a little ways to go but I'm happy with his progress

Looking forward to seeing him next fall after a full offseason as the #1

Needs improvement.

I kid. Except for two HUGE mistakes he was pretty solid against auburn. He still stares down receivers. And m not sure how much his accuracy will improve. He's good enough to be a winning quarterback as long as we get much more help around him.

His passing game has improved drastically.

It's the defense that has regressed.

I was worried that he appeared to be a step slower at the Auburn game - as if he was was nursing a leg injury of some type (perhaps suffered in practice or very early in the game). Later in the game he was definitely limping.

Just hoping he is fully recovered and back to health so he can demonstrate the quickness that he has.done in earlier games.

Go back and watch his passing vs Florida, Bowling Green, and Arkansas.

Compare it to the last couple of weeks and you'll see a night and day difference. He's poised, confident, and making very good throws. Sure, he's got a few throws that aren't perfect but throwing a perfect game is pretty rare for even the best QBs.

Dude is reminding me of a long term blue chip stock graph. Steadily up with a few blips along the way but overall, very much headed in the direction of something special.

And not to belittle Weigman, but I never had this much confidence in Weigman as I do Reed and I feel like Reed has even more upside than Mond.

He looks super comfortable running the O, just fix putting better touch on the ball.

Reed will only get better with more playing time, it's what I've been saying since UF

Reed is great. How many on here said passing accuracy can't be improved? Hogwash.

Its not super common to see drastic increase in completion percentage. Granted his career is still young.

Nice progress. What you would like to see. People have no concept of patience with skill positions anymore.

He's a leader. Love what I've seen from him. He's still got a lot to improve on too. I'm excited for the future with him at the helm.

If you listen to McGee he says there are too many layups he is missing. Never checks down and struggles to see the field and who is open.

I agree 100% with this. He's improved but there's still these issues keeping him from being elite.

Yes, he could learn to quit staring down receivers, not feeling that he has to zip it so hard…and bumping up his percentage of his completions…..but let's not forget why he's QB1 now….It's his LEGS!!!!

Both of our QBs have demonstrated poor accuracy.
Coaching issue IMO.

60% is not bad for a RS freshman. Especially one that didn't take 1st team reps during spring and fall ball. I think Reed will be fine. But dang, better fix the back end of the D. They've been awful. That Auburn QB is just plain bad and we made him look a bit above average. Busted assignments, bad tackling. Sips have given up 1 TD in the first half in the last 3 games. This isn't a game we can fall behind double digits. They aren't going to give up a lot of points. The D has to play better or it's going to be a long night. Better force 2 TOs as well.

Marcel Reed completed 22 of 35 (62.86%) passes for 297 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception, and he had 66 rushing yards on 21 carries. I think that is a good performance for a redshirt freshman making only his 6th career start and 3rd career road start. I think Reed will improve his accuracy.

After scoring just 7 points in the first half, we scored 24 second half points and finished with 31 points in regulation against Auburn, which is tied with Georgia for the most points scored in regulation against Auburn this season. Georgia scored 31 points with senior quarterback Carson Beck against Auburn at home. In contrast, we scored 31 points in regulation in a night road game at Auburn with redshirt freshman Marcel Reed and without our top running backs Reuben Owens and Le'Veon Moss. That's the most points scored in regulation in a road game at Auburn since Arkansas's 41-27 road win at Auburn on 10/29/2022.

Unfortunately, our defense allowed 31 points in regulation to an Auburn offense that had not scored more than 24 points in their previous 9 games against Power 4 opponents. That's the most Auburn have scored against a Power 4 opponent since a 48-10 road win at Arkansas on 11/11/2023 and the most they have scored against a Power 4 opponent at home since a 43-34 home loss to Mississippi State on 11/13/2021, in which they blew a 28-3 lead with 6:10 left in the 2nd quarter.

Our offense needs to find its rhythm early and be more consistent throughout the game against Texas. Starting slow is a recipe for disaster, especially against Texas. After trailing LSU 17-7 at halftime, we outscored LSU 31-6 in the 2nd half to crush LSU 38-23, but we can't trail by 10+ points at halftime and expect to beat Texas. We need to play well on both sides of the ball from start to finish.

Really good matchup here talking about how Reed is actually quite a bit better than Ewers. Also talks about the rest of the matchup- these guys do a good job

Been very impressed with his progress. And yes, definitely still a work in progress. But at least he's not regressing and his confidence is obvious
