I haven't been heavily following recruiting the last few years, but curious if Antwann Hill (Memphis commit) becomes an option again. Also, rumors of Air Noland transferring out of Ohio State in the next portal window have been picking up steam this week.

Not sure what you mean by this but we dont lose a lot of recruits.

It should be really tempting to just go buy the best portal QBs every year, including from the Group5 level if one is good enough.

At what point are we going to start recruiting kids in our own state HARD? I don't think many of us would have thought Longstreet was ever making it to campus, but at what point is this just wasted effort? I just think it's easier to identify and foster Texas kids. Something stuck with me when Elko said we're repairing those Texas HS relationships, well… looks like we still haven't done that. Might take some time, but food for thought.

It had nothing to do with Reed either, despite some goofballs on Premium suggesting that. Longstreet sure as hell ain't scared of going against Reed for QB1 next year. It had to do with Elko's OC hire Klein putting together a crappy passing offense. Reed was more accurate last night minus a few, but he's been mediocre passing more than not in terms of seeing the open WR and hitting them. Not remotely been a game-changer outside his running of the ball vs Florida & LSU.

Also can't believe how many people on Premium still think Klein is good at the passing part of an offense. He has zero pedigree at it and it shows. Elko fcked up with that one, unless they go hire passing-concept assistant coaches to teach Klein what to do. Becoming easy to be sick of Klein. What is his buyout? I get the OL is thin or injured, but even when we have time the passing-game sucks vs the good teams.

This. Klein's offense may have worked in the big 12 but isn't cutting it in the SEC. What's even more concerning than his play calling is his inability to make in game adjustments. Elko also shouldn't sit around and wait while he tries to learn on the job.

I trust Elko to know what type of offensive scheme will be tough on opposing defenses.

I guess some of you didn't see Reed missing wide open receivers last Saturday. Klein isn't the problem. We still don't have a QB who's a good passer.

The coaching staff has put all their eggs in the Reed basket. At 6' 2" and maybe 180 lbs. if will be interesting to see if he holds up in this run offense. Remember what Mike Leach said about QBs who lack accuracy.

Seems like QB is position you can always address via the portal.

Think we will HAVE to go to the portal next year given whats happened with Weigs. I like Reed but not sure hes going to get us over the hump, especially when teams can gameplan for him.

I said the same thing about Murray and look how he turned out. Pretty sure he is even smaller than Reed.

With Owens and Moss injuries I'm not really worried about this year as the team has already met expectations. It will be hard to exceed them against Refs+Aub and Refs+tu...we are not winning either one of those games realistically with an offense that struggled to score 38 against NMSU.

The biggest issue going forward is recruiting w/our Big12 OC. We can't honestly expect to go portal for QB, RBs, and WRs this offseason. A coaching staff now sitting at zero 5-Stars and zero QB/RB/WR recruits is simply not getting the job done on any measurable level.

Dawgs, tu, Bama, Aub, Lsu, and Tenn all ranked ahead of us in 247 2025 recruiting and Ags have shown a better offensive product in conference play this year compared to 4 of those 6 teams ahead of them (including points scored). That means the coaches are not getting the job done in-house and on the phones with recruits and their families. Everyone has NIL so that's not a differentiator.
