It's still very possible. Let's back off the cliff.

Scraped by bowling green and State. Laid this egg. You think any of the next 3 are better than 50/50?

Yes, I 100% think the next 2 are close to 100% and tu is very winable .

I'm with you.
I'm not confident due to the Moss injury, the terrible play calling by Klein, and Reed's long ball inaccuracy, but I have a modicum of belief.

We can win out. Gave it to them 3x inside our own 35. Turned it over in the red zone. Gave them 3 before half. It went sideways badly, but nothing that can't be fixed. Our biggest problem is that we're not that good. We weren't that good a week ago. We aren't now. But we can still be a top 10 team.

The Moss injury is probably worse than the loss, when you consider our chances for making the CFP at 10-3.

Agree OP. It can still happen. Take care of NMST and Auburn and go into Kyle 9-2. tu is a rivalry game. They are good, not elite. Georgia exposed them a bit. They could still see another loss. SEC has seen it's ups and downs this year. I would not count us out yet.

This team is not an SEC championship level team

LSU was a solid win , other than that what's our best win? Arkansas ? A 5-4 team that got 60 hung on them today
LSU only team in the top half of the SEC standings we have played

If Moss is out, we are toast. He is 90% of our running game. Daniels and Smith are not good enough.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think the point of the 12 team playoff is to not exclude teams who truly have the roster to win 3 or 4 games in a row. 2023 UGA comes to mind. We may see some upsets in the early rounds, like TCU over Michigan, but the national championship is guaranteed to feature recruiting juggernauts. In that sense, the only reason for expanding to 12 is to accommodate 2 or 3 loss beasts from the Big 10 or SEC who get healthy in December. The new playoff format keeps more hopes alive, but in the end it will favor the bluebloods even more. Boise State ain't winning 4 games. Texas A&M ain't either...yet. But maybe soon.

Yep, the LSU win was impressive. The ND loss and this loss were pathetic.

This is the truth. We aren't an elite football team, but the truth is, everybody remaining on our schedule, including the potential SEC Championship game has already shown they are very beatable as well. Get the sips at home which should matter. Have 2 weeks of non-conf/BYE before getting back into conference play. Use it to get this team right.

Honestly , LSU likely gonna end up a 7-4 team

We may not be SEC championship level, but with our schedule, I could still see us getting in there. Georgia would be hard to beat. But then again, Michael Bishop was pretty confident in '98.

Tonight there was a distinct possibility that we could play well and still lose. We played poorly, and the result was deserved. This team has very little margin for error. At all. Not a month ago. Not now.

On paper, you are correct. On the field, it will take a miracle.

Teams with embarrassing losses don't win SEC championships very often, if ever.

Meh. We punted, down 10, with 5 minutes to go. Then we added a double scoop of Aggie special for all the voters who don't actually watch football. 6 in one hand...

I said make the game, not win it. If we had to play Georgia I think our chances of winning the game almost zero

We were blown out by a 4-3 South Carolina team. We will likely be without Moss. We will not win out.

LSU and A&M benefit this year from having relatively weak conference schedules.

Penn state and Indiana get the same benefit this year in the big 10.

This will become the norm with 12 teams making the playoffs. Every year 2 or 3 teams will benefit via weak schedules and lose two games but still make the playoffs.

LSU has bama next week and then @UF (Langley may be out) . Then vandy (yes a surprise decent team) and ou (awful this year) as home.

To do so, we need to tackle.
Tackling is important.

Edit:

If we win the rest of our SEC games, we are in the SEC title game. We would be playing LSU if they win out. If they lose to Alabama, we'd play either Tennessee or Georgia. Lsu and A&M have tiebreakers over Georgia & Tennessee due to strength of conference schedule.

Georgia likely to only have 1 loss, or 2 losses with and Tennessee & Ole Miss both with 2 losses..

If we beat Sips, then we'll have 1 SEC loss….Sips will have 2 losses and LSU will have 1 or 2 losses, along with Alabama having at least 2 losses.

Idk about our playoff chances, but I'd assume we make the SEC title game if we win out.

UGA/OM still have to play

Bama/LSU still play
Ag1188
How long do you want to ignore this user?
right. We're still in the drivers seat with tiebreakers over Georgia & Tennessee (based on SEC opponents win%) and H2H tiebreaker over Lsu in a sole tie with them. Lsu also has tiebreakers over Tennessee & Georgia.

I still think our floor is still 9-3 because we should be double digit road favorites at Auburn. Vanderbilt defeated Auburn 17-7 on the road to improve to 6-3 (3-2 SEC) and drop Auburn to 3-6 (1-5 SEC). As a result, Auburn has lost 5 consecutive home games against Power 4 teams, dating back to a 27-24 home loss to Alabama on 11/25/2023. This year, they have lost all 4 home games against Power 4 teams to Cal, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. If these 4 teams can beat Auburn at their place, then there is no reason we can't win our final road game at Auburn. Also, Hugh Freeze is 1-7 in home games against Power 4 teams.

Still, the road game at Auburn is a trap game because we will probably be double-digit road favorites, and it comes before the Lone Star State rivalry showdown with Texas at Kyle Field. If win that road game, we will return to Kyle Field with a 9-2 (6-1 SEC) record and be playing Texas for an SEC Championship Game and playoff appearances.

there is no way in hell we have a better opp win pct than UGa. And opp win pct is like the 4th level tiebreaker behind things like record vs shared opponents.

Loss didn't rally change anything. Season still comes down to beating Texas. But as usual Twxas will come to Kyle field as the more talented team. I think Ags will see why we didn't want them in conference. Then when recruits decommit and head to Aus.tin it will be just like the Big 12 days. The team has a chance to break that trend. However this trend always seems to happen in a new coaches first year. After that they never seem to recover for some reason. Hope Elko is different. Not sure I would bet on it.

Why don't you think we have a better opp win percentage than UGA?

In a three way tie, that's what it's going to come down to because shared opponent is Florida
