Is he really all that? He has the most snaps in FBS which on the surface shouldn't make him the Heisman Trophy favorite should it? Is he that good at each position?

The Heisman is awarded to the best player in CFB, correct?
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

ESPN has bought stock in him

He has Pro Bowl potential on either of the side of the ball. Phenomenal athlete.

I hate all the "most snaps" talk, but the fact remains that he would start at WR or DB at any school today. The fact that he could start at both positions for any school today is unheard of. I think what he's doing is more valuable than any QB out there right now, and this has basically been a QB award for the past decade

He's the real deal. He's also missed some games due to injury.

That's a tough Heisman race when Ashton Jeanty still exists.

No.

He's good but he shouldn't win the Heisman in my opinion. Jeanty is running away with it

A RB at a non P5 school playing vs weak competition should not automatically run away with heisman.
Travis Hunter might be All American at 2 positions. Charles Woodson won it for being the best DB in country and 1-2 punt return TD. This guy is racking up catches, yds which would be a WR1 at any school.

This is correct. Jeanty would not be doing what he's doing against teams with a pulse. Hunter is clearly the best player in football and is doing it against real competition.

Jeanty had 25 carries for 192 yards and 3 TDs against Oregon. I'd consider the #1 team real competition.

Hunter was the number 1 overall recruit 4 years ago until a signing day coup where he flipped from Florida state to Jackson state.

Yes. He's as good as they come. Just hope his head stays on straight and hasn't been nurtured to be a Prime in the pros. He seems like a good kid.

A running back who is on pace to set the record for rushing yards in a season deserves the Heisman. Regardless of competition.

Hate on Prime all you like but Travis Hunter is clearly the best player in football. Draftable at two positions of need!? Has that ever happened? This should be the most slam dunk Heisman ever. The fact that Jeanty is making it close is a testament to his season but he's doing it against much weaker competition.

Really good player.

Playing both ways against G6 teams isn't a Heisman guy.

Schedule (6-2, bolded losses):
v NDState (FCS)
@ Nebraska (5-3)
@ Colorado St (5-3)
v Baylor (4-4) <-10th
@ UCF (3-5) <- 14th
v K-State (7-1)
@ Arizona (3-5) <-12th
v Cincy (5-3)

There is a reason they are hyping him. I don't know that I've ever seen a Heisman hopeful fly in for Game Day on their off-week.

The BXII has never played defense, so as DB he is playing against WRs that never have a real DB.

They have:
@ Tech (5-3)
v Utah (4-4) <-13th
@ Kansas (2-6) <- 15th
v Okie State (3-5) <- 16th in BXII

They will have played 6 of the worst 7 teams in the BXII. So, not just G6... but the bottom half of the conference. Just a guess, but will he have played this season against a single WR that gets drafted... let alone plays in the NFL?!

Whose he played?

No doubt he's good, marketing is even better

No way he plays both ways if they were in a SEC or B1G conference.

One, he'd be beaten up.

Two, preparing and playing against WRs that aren't very good and on not good teams is much different than playing DB against an NFL caliber WR on a team that could beat you.

Him being the best has nothing to do with Prime. Hunter was the top player in the class and everyone wanted him. I'd venture to say the margin against all the other players in the last classes over 5 years between him and everyone else has been one of the widest seen.

Both Jeanty and Hunter pass the eye test. Jeanty could probably put up similar stats if he was on our team. My $.02.

Living in Colorado, I see almost all of his games...

Hunter is like watching the best 8th grader. By that I mean, he plays not just offense and defense, but he plays every single snap. He is probably the best WR in CFB and he is without a doubt the best DB. He plays 130-140 plays a game and makes head shaking plays on 10 of them. Hunter not only can play both ways at the NFL level, he can be an all pro both ways. On defense he looks like Deion, except he isn't afraid to tackle. On offense he has an OBJ type of game. Stupid body control, incredible hands.

Is his competition SEC level? Of course not, but the best player on the other team is and Hunter will completely dominate that player every single snap. They will double him every single play on offense and it doesn't matter. Boise State hasn't played anyone either. Their best opponent so far is either UCLA or Oregon State.

Watching Hunter play college ball is like watching a normal 5 star play high school ball. I'm not a huge Shadeur Sanders fan as I think he is terribly inaccurate, but Hunter makes him look good.

Last thing about Hunter. He has great grades (3.6 gpa in Psychology, 4.0 last semester), and he is an incredible person.

Watch a Colorado game for this guy, he really is that special.

He's elite at WR and elite at CB. To me he's a no brainer Heisman winner. We've never seen this in our lifetimes.

Boise played the #1 team in the country. They lost by 3. Jeantry put up 192 ads and 3TDs, but continue with the "they haven't played anyone" story.

They also played Washington St. who is 7-1 and ranked and UNLV who is 6-2...they are not facing the strongest schedule, but along with Oregon, that isn't the worst competition in the world.

He's the best player in College Football, hands down! And he's playing like it too. What he's doing is phenomenal, appreciate the game

Also, how much should that matter? They have a decent schedule relative to the talent on their team...it isn't like this is LSU's roster of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson going up against the Indiana School of the Blind every single week of the season.

The Heisman is supposed to be awarded to the "most outstanding player in college football"...this is a pretty subjective standard, but the award feels like it has gotten stale when it just goes to the quarterback on the best team most years...I love that Jeanty and Hunter are top candidates this year.

I missed that, my mistake, I thought they played Oregon State.

Travis Hunter is the best player in the country and deserves to be the Heisman and then #1 pick. Dude will be a stud on both sides of the ball even in the NFL.

I am curious to see if he does both in the NFL, a lot of people are skeptical, but with how freaking slow the pace of play is, I could see it being possible.

I agree. In an NFL game a team only averages about 50-60 or so plays a game. In college it is at 70-80.
