We're 6-5 vs Miss St since joining the SEC. The only other time we played them since the 1930s was in 2000 when we lost in the infamous Snow Bowl (Independence Bowl) 43-41.

New staff, new schemes, new players on both sides of the ball.

Starters on this year's team that played significant snaps in that game in 2022: Bryce Anderson, Shemar Stewart, Shemar Turner, Trey Zuhn.... who else?

That's exactly why I think it IS relevant. Different players, different coaches, different schemes and yet we've experienced a ton of futility there.

I'm not going to say it's the cowbells. Not going to say it's some extra motivation by Miss St or confidence based on prior results. Not going to say it's A&M taking them lightly when we're heavily favored.


EVERY ONE of those factors is a real factor in the world of college football, and we're potentially facing them all.

Biggest thing we have going is a coaching staff who appears to have developed a different mind-set in these players. A belief in themselves to win, but not a cockiness or laziness that takes anything for granted.

It's an incredibly small sample size. They were very very good one of those years and we lost to a D2 school one of those years.
