The announcers suggested something along the lines of "an academy worthy performance" ie pulling a Kiffin but it looked like a cramp to me.

There's no way Mizzou was gonna score no matter what personal we had, he had a cramp, he played a lot of snaps on a hot day. Moffitt needs to make sure he's hydrated in two weeks

There is ZERO reason to pull a "timeout injury" in that situation. We had won, we had timeouts to burn. I think it was a real cramp

I was watching him after he got to the sidelines and even though they didn't take him to the med tent, he seemed to be moving kind of awkwardly for a little while so it may have been a legitimate cramp.

Guy on the field in the heat of the moment probably isn't thinking about that. Just a reflex at that point.
