The kickoff of a football game is one of the best parts of (college) football.

Although there are many good ones, the Aggie kickoff was the best one in college football for many years. The 1988 12th man kickoff team inspired me to come and try out. Even though I never made the team I was ready, still am. Except now I'm supposed to watch and listen instead of yelling?

What was special about our kickoff was the crowd yelling the AAA buildup to the Gig 'em Aggies at the point of impact. Fans participating from the start. The "home field advantage" started there.

And now we have amazingly loud speakers and all of that history is gone.

Don't get me wrong, I am all the way in favor of loud speakers and music, except when they squash an amazing kickoff tradition.

Who knows if it really matters as far as wins and losses go. Just sad to see it go.

Agreeed!!!!!!

To start a game, a half or following an Aggie score, crowd enthusiasm is at its highest.
