I'm not sure the 12th man even realizes this is happening on the sideline. Much less paying enough attention to react accordingly. That could be a pretty cool addition to the TD celebration though. Would definitely be audible on TV broadcast

That could be pretty fun if you slightly choreographed it ahead of time. Maybe at the end of a 1st quarter or something, the team lights up #12 and the 12th man and cannon provide the boom.

It's already happening on the sideline among the players after TDs. They even raise a towel and then drop it, signaling when to say "boom"

All that's missing is the 12th man to notice and join in.

EDIT to Add: If you watch "The Pulse" you can see what they're doing.

Running Back Coach Trooper Taylor started this! I heard him speak recently and he is so awesome!! I think he would be over the moon about the 12th Man joining in!! Watch for the black towel going up after a touchdown and then yell BOOM!! when they slam it to the ground!

Have the announcer give a "Ready, aim, fire…" and the 12th Man… BOOM!!!'

Announcer doesnt need to do anything. The players are already doing it. Literally a "yell" led by the players. Might be a first of its kind?

I'm not a fan of it in any circumstance. It's choreographed for certain situations and nothing seems authentic about it at all.

Very Sumlin-ish to me. But, if the players like it that is what matters I guess.

I do think it would be less cringe if it were more fan oriented than players, then choreographed makes more sense.

Yes, but yell leaders/cheerleaders coordinating with fans is already a thing. I'm not saying the players shouldn't have fun with something like that. I'm just saying what they chose seems a bit cringe to me.

Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen the yell leaders do the horse laugh in years...... would love to have it back as one of our yells.

Edit: horse laugh was a good yell for when the refs screwed us over......
