Absorbing the narrative, it seems that there is only one guy that can start at QB on this roster and it is just presented as a given. It is constantly enforced.

Is it his high school recruiting ranking? Being the top paid NIL player on the roster? Is the starting job guaranteed in his NIL deal? It can't be any of these things, correct? Just asking because conversation to the contrary of him being the only option to start is usually extinguished by some expert posters.

Weigman isn't the freshman Manziel. That was a once in a generation thing. Our eyes don't lie. Weigman is 1-4 as a starter against P5 schools.

Henderson can play. Reed can play. And they also both add the element of being able to run the ball.

The sad thing is these other qbs will transfer due to lack of playing time even though they may be better than Weigman.

Because a lot of folks on texags are Houston hardos who saw him play in hs and want to tell everyone and anyone about that one time he walked on water in a hs game and is the greatest athlete to have ever been dreamed up.

And he may have been. But right now he has a lot of proving to do real fast because his time as starter has had very mixed results, and his most recent performance was one of the worst ever seen at Kyle field by the home team.

I have been wondering the same thing. I don't understand the fixation on him.

Weigman (vs ND home) - 31.8
Reed (vs OkSt bowl) - 72.8
Henderson (vs LSU away) - 57.3

I don't know what happened to Weigman; in 2022/23 he had a 60% completion rate and 16TD / 2INT ratio; but something is clearly broken; this is obvious from just watching his performance last night even without reviewing stats. The coaches need to act quickly (like they should have addressed the problem in summer camp); so that means they need to fix their mistake today.
