We lost the turnover battle. You can't go minus two and upset a good team.

Definitely some questionable calls but ultimately I'm not sure how much we really know since he was severely handicapped by a qb who was completely abysmal and looked nothing like his old self.

So if you have a ****ty 1980s run mentality then you have to be perfect in all aspects of the game to win. If we could find some coaches who understand football from this century then we would win every game when the D played that well

We ran the ball well but not good enough to get zero from the quarterback. Handing it off over and over would not have worked. Weigman was also a zero factor in the running game, maybe it would have worked if he looked capable of running like Leonard did.

I saw a lot of run plays not work. And even more pass plays that didn't work.

Yes, fire the OC who has no elite weapons on outside and bad OL…why can't he call plays to score points?

Our WRers may be able to beat other DBs but not what ND has, that takes elite playmakers that we do not have.

His call to pass for 2 yards on 4th down was it for me. Stupid.

The offensive line still sucks but has improved. Our problem is that we have no quarterback. He's lost his accuracy and he can't run. Notre Dame had no fear of him or our offense. They were going for it on fourth down because they knew we couldn't score on them. We need to put in one of our dual threat quarterbacks. That would at least make the defense have to defend the quarterback run option. I can't believe we still suck this bad. I guess I drank the poison. Again.

I was telling everybody from the start that you can't overreact to a week 1 game in a new system. It takes a couple of months to truly find out who a team is. This was just emotional drunk posting.

Just kidding, i actually kind of agree. The players are still acclimating to a lot of new stuff, so it's not quite 2nd nature "read and react" for them just yet. But it seems they're improving, week to week.

Yeah, I feel like it's about a new system, 2 qbs... takes time to get in a rhythm for certain units and ours has proven to be one of them
