This game next month is supposed to be the LAST one in Cowboys stadium. I have not heard or seen anything about a renewal or extension. I think most Aggie fans are against it but the team players and coaches seem to like it. I would rather it not be extended but can understand if it is. I am guessing we will hear more about this next month.

If it is extended they need to do something about the price points and drop the additional donation for club seats. $225+ for a college football game that is not a bowl game or playoff game is ridiculous. Attendance has been pretty poor given the team locations and fan base in DFW. Attendance last year was 60K, split approximately evenly. For A&M or even Arkansas to play in north texas and only have 30K fans is really poor, and I'm sure the ticket $$ has a big impact on that.

Ideally it would be a Kyle Field / Jerryworld rotation, but that will never happen of course.

True enough but I am assuming even in a pod scenario we would be playing Pig every year.

Maybe ... maybe not. 9 games? 8 games? How many permanent opponents and how any on rotation? Pods? Will there be more teams by 2026 to account for?

We aren't being separated from Texas. Texas isn't being separated form OU. It's unlikely we are separated from LSU. Arkansas would rather play Texas than us.

As was said above, I don't know how either school could commit to an off site game without knowing the conference plans going forward.

Probably will depend on whether we have Jimbo paid off or not. Couple more concerts and World Cup soccer games should get us there.

I could see it getting extended for 2025 if Arky wanted to.

Otherwise, as things currently stand, 2025 will be in Fayetteville, then we don't play at all in 2026-7.

The elephant in the room that might get me booed out of here is that this was an attempt to replicant Texas/OU.

Problem is, A&M/Arkansas just isn't the rivaly that Texas/OU is. It's rarely even one of the top 3-4 games on our schedule, and throughout the series in that stadium, it's been rare that both teams were good at the same time.

It might have worked, but it hasn't. Will be better back on campus.

It was announced a couple of years ago that the contract would not be extended. With the new SEC schedule, we may not be playing every year, so the end of the contract was timely in that respect.

I cant imagine Arkansas would want to keep playing this game in Arlington. Since 2014, we are 9-1 against them (including the 2020 covid game at Kyle).

I envy my LSU father-in-law. He will be in Vegas next weekend to watch LSU play USC. He has seen LSU play in Lambeau Field, and at Washington and went on an Alaskan cruise the week before. Last year he went to see LSU play FSU in Orlando and went to Disney and Universal the days before. I wish we would do games like that. I did the Jerry world game the first year and never went back.

Year 17 of a 10 year deal.

It's been 2-more years left on this deal for the past decade.

Great idea in theory - smack dab in the middle of the hottest recruiting bed in the country and in the most recognizable stadium in the country to recruits.

Problem is/was none of the games were relevant in the big picture. If a few of the games were top 10 showdowns or had any SEC title stakes, then it would have taken off as must see.

TAMU and Arkansas (especially Arkansas) can only blame themselves for not making this a game worth watching. Not Jerry's fault, not the NFL stadium's fault, not the ticket price fault, not the concession/parking cost fault - blame the insignificance of the football programs.

Imagine if these were #4 vs #7 or #2 vs #6 undefeated showdowns. And the winner eventually won the SEC or NC at the end of the year, while the loser just missed out because of the loss

Yeah - we'd all be singing a different tune towards this game.

I never really understood why we felt like giving up a home game every other yr was a good idea. Besides that we won't necessarily be playing Arky every yr going forward so I don't even see how an extension could be possible.
