Orthodox Jew on an SEC football team??

Is this guy ever going to see the field or he is a walk on for the practice squad?

Guess I'm a little weird, because I thought it was cool. I like to see people of faith living their lives fully. And I'm not Jewish.... Roman Catholic.

Edit to add: As a walk-on, I doubt he'll ever see the field except maybe in a major blow-out.

Check the participation in the Texas Bowl. Saw him warming up and think I may have seen him on some of the kickoffs.

Has Sam ever seen the field on game day to play RB?
He's now a junior. Don't recall his recruitment.
Seems undersized for that position.

Looks like a nice young man, but how does he handle Shabbat every week, especially during football season?

Can't make light on the sabbath, but can be somewhere light already exists.

Visited Fire Island for a weekend many years ago. Was sitting out front where we were staying just after sunset on a Friday chatting with a couple of people when a conservative Jewish woman asked me if I could come to their bungalow and unscrew the refrigerator light bulb for them.

Walked in and lights were on everywhere, the TV is going; I thought the deal was no electricity. Turns out it's OK if the lights are already on, they just can't turn them on. So until I loosened the light bulb in the fridge, they couldn't open it.

It's why there are Sabbath elevators in a lot of buildings in NY where the elevator stops on every floor. Can't push the elevator button and make it light up, but can ride in it with the buttons lit up already.

So as long as Sam doesn't turn on a light switch or start a car, among other things, he is good to play on a Saturday (unless there's another rule that he is breaking).
