I played against him twice in the playoffs in high school. He played qb and safety, he was really good, very fast. First game we set the state single game rushing record with 763 rushing yards. Second time I picked him off in the 4th to seal the game.
Would be the first coach with a PhD in Aggie history. His NIL will be ridiculous in helping the players. He already has a huge YouTube following. I'm skeptical of the athletic ability however. I believe it to be exaggerated.
Not trying to take anything away from him but the truth is he was not the best corner for us during our worst stretch in Aggie history and cost us the game vs tehc in Fran's only decent season.
That being said, he seems to be a great coach and recruiter. He can make up for the past now.

Blaming him for the Tech game has no merit. His coverage was excellent against a perfect pass to a taller receiver while, as mentioned, a LB that should have been blitzing for a highly probable sack never crossed the LOS despite having a clear path to the QB. Regardless, sometimes the other team just makes a great play. It's not like he got burned.

Crappy post. He has nothing to make up for, nor to prove. He actually played D1 football, that trumps a keyboard.
And I would further say he was a good corner for us. His technique defending the pass was far superior to anything I've seen out of our corners the last few years.

Its a joke, he's referencing the weepy Canadian Kermit the Frog impersonator by the same name
Not first coach with PhD. Shelby Metcalf was a PhD and was often called the Good Doctor. His dissertation was on crowd control at sporting events.
Busted!! Had no idea we ever had a PhD coach. That's awesome.
Alas, the famous Canadian Jordan Peterson would be an epically horrible football coaching hire. I think he'd actually melt during fall camp. And he doesn't know nuffin bout foosball.

Its ok to be honest and admit he wasn't a very good player, doesn't mean he's not a good Aggie or great coach. We didn't have many good players during the Fran era, and the ones that were didn't get coached up.
It was a good hire and I expect very good things out of him after what he did at Kansas. This is likely his dream job and I'm sure he feels like he has plenty to prove.

It's okay to just congratulate someone and not say anything else!

This is a football forum, not a safe space. And I can't get behind revisionist history or trophies for everyone.

I bet you will be able to bounce a quarter on their well made beds if he comes here. He will abstract so much order from their chaos.

This.
And delaying any type of blitz with Warren was the dubmbest thing ever, because Warren was slow AF and needed all the help he could get.....which was not waiting until the QB was about to throw the ball to start blitzing from 4 yards deep.

He wasn't supposed to delay. He was supposed to go on the snap. It was an all out blitz. The DB ( Melvin Bullitt, not Jay Brooks as I previously though) was blocked by the RB who would have had to pick up Warren if he'd have gone, would have sacked the QB on that play.
Watch a video of the play. Everyone goes but Warren.
Here it is:
Watch the near side LB. He doesn't move (that's Warren)
Watch the far side blizting DB get picked up by the RB. That DB would have nailed the QB if Warren had gone like he was supposed too. Darnell said in the press conference when asked about that play "it was an all out blitz, someone didn't blitz" (or something like that). He blamed Warren for the lapse with out naming him.

This was the beginning of me hating tech. The tech fans after the game really were true dbags
