That seems like a crazy line to me after Penix's performance against Bevo. I wondered what all of you thought about it. If I were in Vegas I'd put money on UW to win and hope for a decent payout.

UM has a much better defense

I'm actually shocked Mich is not favored by more.

Mich has much better dudes in the trenches. I think Mich wins easily.

If I were in Vegas I'd put about $75 (an amount I can afford to lose and not sulk afterwards) on UW to win and go to a sports book to watch. As I'm in Missouri I'll watch alone on TV and hope for a UW win.

Which of these teams has a defense???

It only shows the reality of how overrated sip was and that they didn't belong in the final 4.

I'll stick with $75 on UW and bragging rights once they win. Someone needs to tell me how much my $75 is going to pay!

The Michigan D is insanely good, and aggressive. Unlike Texas, Michigan will run it down their opponents throats. I can see Washington going 3 & Out a lot without their starting RB to keep the defense honest. It's only $75, so might as well!

We get it. You're confident that UW will win. You don't have to tell us twice.

They were favored by 3.5 over UW so Vegas thinks they are similar.

Michigan will try to dominate the trenches and run the ball down Washington's throat. It's gonna be an interesting game since Texas ran the ball pretty well on Washington. We will see how Washingtons receivers do against the UM pass defense. I expect it to be a close game.

Wash D-line is lacking. Mich will be able to run the ball well and keep W offense off the field. It'll be fun to watch W offense against a solid defense.

I think it's a close game. 4.5 is more than a fg and a half point more than the 4 point spread differential between a td plus extra point and a fg, so I'll take UW and the points.

lots of games end up being 3 and 4 point margins.

UW lost its RB and best cover man at the end of their game

If those 2 are still out for Michigan, those are some huge losses. That rb was sneaky deadly their toughest stretch of the season and I don't think they'd be in the playoffs without him.
Thanks and gig'em

Texas is good in the trenches, the DL in particular. Didn't translate to an easy win when Penix played like he was GD Tom Brady.

I expect it to be another blowout. Michigan wins by 20+.

Texas ranks 52nd in sacks. Mich is 19.

Mich has a much better defense and better pass rush. Penix will be on his backside alot.

Additionally, Mich learned last year that they can't come in and play like they did against TCU.

Blowout win for Mich IMO.

washington is much better than anyone is giving them credit for. the two injuries hurt if the db and rb cant play but i would be surprised to see michigan roll washington. kellen deboer teams don%92t get rolled often and if penix plays like he did against the shorthorns watch out.

They are good but they don't match up well with Mich IMO. And if their RB is out then that definitely hurts them. But if Penix isn't pressured and he plays like Tom Brady again, then they have a chance.

I just feel they dominated tu and still barely won. Mich is a different animal.

I already put $200 on Mich on various bets including some parlays. Thinking about putting much more on them. If I am wrong you all can laugh at me later. But it is all for fun. And besides won some good $ on Wash beating tu so I am on a hot streak...lol.

Crazy, I thought for sure the line would open at least at -6.5. I'm sure it'll get there before kickoff. I don't see this game being very competitive. Although UM does have a recent knack of flopping in big games (see lol TCU last year).

I thought it would open at -7 Mich. Maybe it will get there before kickoff.

Some words of caution:

1) Don't fall prey to analysis based on what you want to be true because of your hatred of the Longhorns. I've been guilty of that too many times to count.
2) Don't underestimate the equalizing factor of a really good QB.
3) And while all the commentary is pretty much about UW's offense v Michigan's defense, you've got the other matchup as well.

I think this will stay close enough that a big special teams play or a timely turnover will decide the game.

You can put your hate aside and still think Michigan wins by more than 4.5 points. I think Alabama was the second best team in the playoffs. I actually think the two best teams are Michigan and Georgia, but Georgia picked the wrong week to lose.

Honestly, though, a field goal seems too small but a touchdown seems a bit high (even though they did beat Bama by 7). Maybe it should be in the range of 5-6 points, I don't know, but 4.5 seems pretty close to correct to me.
Hungry Ojos

I certainly hope so. After Georgia completely and fundamentally raped TCU's collective soul in last year's MNC along with the FSU bowl game debacle this year, I just want to see a good football game.

I agree. I often like going with the team with a better QB. It seems to work more than it doesn't. However, in this case not expecting that to work out.

I think Mich can run all night and day against Wash. And I don't think they will abandon the run either. To me looks just like last year, Semi games were incredible but Finals is a snoozer. I don't expect a final game like last year but I could see Mich winning by 3 TDs.

Unfortunately, I think the 2 best teams this year were Georgia and Michigan.

Vegas didn't think anything, they just know how easily everyone is influenced by the media so would be betting on sip.

I think the line will fall and settle around -4. I'll be putting a decent amount down on Michigan, but I won't lay the points even though I think Michigan should beat them fairly soundly. This is a moneyline bet for me because I really like Michael Penix. Michigan is too much though. They are a much better team in my opinion.

So if Washington beats Michigan then what? Considering Texas was one catch away from beating Washington. I feel like Texas could win the whole thing and you'd find a way to twist the logic in your head to somehow still say they didn't earn it and were overrated.
