It keeps me coming back for more. And I can't help but notice that we have completely flipped the script when it comes to portal recruiting. We land a veteran name every other day now. Some may be from smaller schools sure but they are among the highest rated at their positions and come with years of college level experience, and are at positions of need at that. This concept used to be foreign around here.

I know the talking heads told y'all that we were burning down and it's hard for many of y'all to think anything other than what they tell you, but your favorite teams like ou, oh st and georgia have lost twice as many starters as us. Our core is still intact and just needs solid reinforcements to field a very competitive team.

Elko needs to focus on the portal and class of '25. Our numbers are best served through the portal. Elko is busy unraveling the damaged relationships across the state due to Jimbo's inflated ego, but this will pay off for next year's freshman class.

We still have a big announcement coming soon in our DC hire, and y'all better believe it will bring in even more momentum. Hope that one guy rediscovered his manhood and finally found something to be excited about.

I like the positive outlook in general but we've lost some key players where our competiton - Alabama, Ole Miss, Lsu have not..

After how underutilized Thomas was last year, I wouldn't be surprised.

You know, we have a 6'6" freak athlete playing wr for us who catches EVERYTHING thrown at him, and how many times did we throw a simple fade to him in the red zone?

Zero. Zero times.

The most glaring, obvious mismatch on the field at any given time, but ESPECIALLY in the red zone, and the " offensive genius" couldn't figure it out.

Man, I'm glad we made the move. We were going nowhere fast.

Supposedly a big week ahead for us in the portal too. Let's see what's happens.

The DB Jones out of central Michigan that committed yesterday had a nice offer list and was down to us, Georgia or Florida if that gives you an idea of his potential.

I almost forgot, that little WR we got out of LA Tech had offers from West Virginia, Mississippi State, Tulane, Oregon, Houston, Miami, South Carolina, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Baylor and Wisconsin. But sure, I guess he's not good enough to be a backup here says the zoo.

And the much needed LB we got out of Youngstown had offers from South Carolina, Michigan State, Virginia Tech etc. But again, the zoo determined we don't need any seasoned depth at LB because they played at a small school.

And it looks like we just locked up another commitment to be unexcited about.

A seasoned TE to fill the backup ranks and push our starters. What's not to be excited about?

Elko is building a championship culture, which is the main thing we need after trying everything else.

The guys we are bringing in from the portal won't make us competitive with the top echelon teams in the conference but hopefully they will give us enough quality depth to continue to be competitive against the middle tier conference teams. Would hate to see us take a step back from 7-5.

Time will tell

We're shoring up the O Line with a third of our recruits being 4* O linemen. Surely there's a way to be upset about this though, right.

If we aren't in the playoff next year it's a failure.
