Can't have conflicts of interest running your locker room. Simple as that. Texas A&M and the aw shucks good ole boy crowd love our culture of mediocrity as long as we're the "nice guy" and we're once again being worked from within. We need to drop the hammer. Love the Elko hire but allowing your employee to be a direct competitor to your business is absolutely ridiculous.

Nice guys finish last. I think Schloss is in the right place in that department but my God this is getting old

So it's a coincidence that Fadil Diggs is transferring to Syracuse?

And that one of our top DL recruits just hosted Syracuse at an in-home meeting. In Louisiana.

What are the odds?

Any player that would prefer to play football at Syracuse over A&M will not be missed, they will never be heard from again.

I'm worried about the players who transfer to our direct competition like LSU, tu, and Ole Miss

Alabama has a history of recruiting five star players in the deep South.

Maybe I've missed something over the years, but is Syracuse a big player for the top players in the country from the deep south?

A player, by the way, who didn't even have them on his radar until Coach Robinson announced he was going to be the defensive coordinator there.

Is there any evidence he's recruiting our guys away? A NE guy going back to the NE… kind of makes sense NE recruits that first connected with him may follow.

I'm all for non-competes/non-poaching when someone is actively trying to harm their former employer, but sometimes people just want to work together, even after one leaves.

Yeah, I suppose there is not the recruiting equivalent of an employment contract where you can't poach from your current employer for a year of the last day worked.....

Even then, if the player chooses to follow the coach, there is nothing you can do about it. Same in the real world.

Majority on this board that Robinson coaching the bowl game was a great thing and he was a standup guy
The moment he announced he was leaving, he had zero interest or what was best for Texas A&M ..none.
When someone leaves.. you let them leave.

They don't stick around to coach a bowl game.
Mind boggling we had to learn the hard way.

College football must be one dirty business as no one is lacking this much in the intellectual and common sense department...at least I hope not!

Also, I don't understand why Elko doesn't coach the bowl (should we play)? It is not like he was hired 3 days before the game. All this seems so fishy.

Talk about corruption = whorns in the playoffs is way up there. Someone in the city of weird wrote a rather large check to something.

What made the idiots in charge think this was a good idea keeping him on to coach a lousy Texas Bowl? Have Coley or Durkin be the interim. I don't care how much the players love Robinson. You have to do what's best for the program.

To be honest, I think they didn't know who would come aboard and if he would be staying. Who is the idiot that has allowed him to stay on here while actively working against is the bigger question. Or did he already violate any contractual agreements?
