…. Don't understand or don't want to understand. Once again we will solely be measured by how we do against UT. When it comes to the media, recruits, portal players, etc……we have enjoyed lots of years being independent of them over here in the SEC….we even separated ourselves from them recruiting wise and have had more on field success ( record). So if some of us olds are less than thrilled with our hire and panicked with the surge of our players to the portal, it's for good reason…..one that you guys will soon understand! Bring on the hate, because they certainly will and they hav a big head start.

How do they have a big head start? Because they had a good year in the crappy Big 12, while being able to recruit using SEC leverage? It will be settled on the field soon & we will be fine.

That's a big part of it….11-1, Top 4 in country, Media coverage like they own the country, meanwhile a $70 million dollar dumpster fire in CS , followed by a nationwide search that yielded an employee of the guy that we just fired…..Players jumping ship…unranked….I'd say that's a head start…..Better learn to hate them, because they hate you…it will get ugly…

Nah, they are about to find out what playing in a real conference is like.

If they were in the west this year, after beating Alabama who else in this division would beat them? Not one team, the west outside of Alabama wasn't very good.

In the east, their only challenge would be Georgia.

They would have had 3-4 losses. Top to bottom, way tougher schedule than they had this year.

Arkansas
Auburn
Ole miss
Miss state
A&M
LSU
Alabama (won)

Florida
Georgia (probably would win)
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Tennessee
Missouri
Kentucky

LSU can be argued but there isn't another loss in that list for Texas this year.

That's one way to look at it, but way more stumbling blocks with these teams than BIG 12 schedule. TU played two real teams this year and went 1-1. They caught a break early with Alabama trying to figure stuff out.

I personally think of these teams they likely lose to several of them. LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, missouri, A&M, Georgia all beat Texas likely.

I agree there's several teams on this list that would have beat them. Sip barely snuck by UH, K ST, even Wyoming gave them all they wanted and those games came after they beat Bama.

tu will find out next season that the SEC is hard. Struggling to beat uh, Wyoming, Kansas teams, etc won't be easy to do
Against the SEC teams. But we can let them discover that on the field. This little big 12 success only happened because they avoided a second loss to ou. The 12th game
Next year is at Kyle Field and if they can find a way to beat Georgia, Florida, ou, Missouri and arkansas, there could be a playoff spot on the line.

LSU
Ole Miss

Could have easily beaten them. Would they? Who knows.

Sips schedule next year is relatively easy with mostly bottom tier SEC teams unfortunately. They probably go 10-2 and get a trip back to the playoffs…

12 teams make the playoffs next season! Will be a lot easier to be playoff worthy!

The horns have to run out of a uterus every home game. They are an abortion of a football program. No amount of winning changes that.

Projecting into next yr based on this year's results doesn't work for A&M and doesn't work for tu.

Mutually exclusive and independent w many moving variables.

Factors in favor for tu will be continuity of coaching staff (albeit they are losing Choate), process, system and the ultimate key will be QB (Ewers returns w healthy OL and WR corp improves their chances for success).

We are turning over coaching staff, losing some depth of top talent on DL (we have star depth, just not experienced nor proven…do think D Hicks may shock many Ags), will have new offense scheme, losing a couple key leaders (Anias and M Jackson were this yr's top leaders), etc. We have a taller hill to climb…not impossible, but have more unknown pieces to get working together.

Have you even looked at their schedule? They are playing #1, #6, #12, etc....

Michigan, Georgia, Aggies, Sooners, Kentucky, Gators.

The had a top 10 SOS this year and likely next year too. If they go 10-2 they will be playoff bound.

We Have ND, gators, LSU, tu, missouri. They have a much harder schedule

I've seen #17 SOS not T10.

People who said they played a weak schedule is just wrong and uninformed. They had a harder schedule than we did and did much better. To say we would have a better record playing their schedule is just misinformed.

I think you could make this case but I don't think it is true anymore for lots of reasons.

First, the playoff is expanded so even if you lost to Texas in given year you could get into playoff and they very well may not. Nobody is gonna care if you are a playoff team. That becomes goal. For example, you think Texas fans really care they lost to OU this year?

Second, the SEC has better and more dominant teams. Old rivalry existed in a weaker conference. Losing to Texas many times meant losing to the first or second best team in the conference. Texas is just now a team. We have several opportunities each year at beating bigger fish.

Lastly, Texas is now and will be as one as college football is played in this form, our little brother! Good on them they had a good year…but they roll out what they did this year against an SEC schedule and they drop a few more games.

Solution. Pull your panties up and beat them.

We need to accept tu is our main rival. Anyone who says winning/losing to them is like any other game is plain wrong.

We need to shoot to be a top 10 team each year and be in the playoffs. With NIL, we have advantages that others don't. There are no excuses.

Bama, tu, tOSU and the big pockets of football should be in the top 10 most years.
Magnolia Aggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No they didn't. Who else on their schedule was any good besides Bama & Oklahoma? The went 1-1 in those games.

They struggled mighty against several lesser teams along the way.

I am not saying we would have done better with their schedule this year. but these metrics here are skewed.

If they have a couple of games next year where they play like they did against UH, K St or TCU, they likely lose a couple more games than they did this year. But who knows, They've been improving each year under Sark. Who's to say they won't improve more next year.

Did you see Alabama play Auburn? Did you see Auburn play New Mexico State? Many top teams had close calls this year. We discount the Big 12, but the SEC wasn't exactly world beaters this year.

SEC versus ACC - 4-6

SEC versus Big 12 - 1-2

We will be fine, but acting like Texas sucks this year is just delusional. They would likely have beaten Ole Miss, Tennessee, and us. If they played Georgia, who knows? You also can't discount they solidly beat Alabama in Alabama. The excuses we use are ridiculous. Get a clue. The important thing is we get over the current struggles and get back to competing at the level they are now competing at. It probably won't happen next year, but in a rivalry game and at home, anything can happen.
