With so many players jumping into the portal or threatening to jump into the portal looking for an NIL raise it got me thinking what a star player on a college football playoff team could get right now. If you're Ewers, Milroe, Penix, McCarthy or any key player on one of the four teams chasing a championship right now, why wouldn't you use that leverage to make life changing money?

Why not demand a $10M bonus bag from tu boosters to play in the semifinals and/or championship games?

$10mil is old, needs to be higher….thats what Harrison is being quoted.

You might go to their fan boards to rile up their fans. I'm pretty sure we are tapped out at the moment…

I'm waiting for the first player who tells the NFL no thanks because he's made enough in college and is retiring from football.

Seriously, I read that Harrison made $2 million last year and is looking at $10 million this year. I could retire off of $12 million (even after taxes), but the money will only go way up from here.

Fish Pond manager is now in the portal.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep
to gain what he cannot lose!

Saw this earlier and found it interesting. RB is the position where delaying the draft as long as possible could make sense.

For those who don't follow the NFL, Kyren Williams has been one of the best RB's in the league this year (rookie).

It's interesting. Teams are refusing to give big second contracts to RB. But you probably don't hurt yourself too much on the rookie deal by staying in school. I could see a lot of RBs staying

Now just get rid of that pesky eligibility rule .... I mean ... if the average joe can go to school for many number of years why shouldn't the players?

If you're slated to be a 5th rounder or worse (Kyren was drafted in the 5th round) it makes sense as a RB if you're making more in college knowing that there's not likely going to be a lucrative second contract in the NFL.

Kyren received a $77k bonus as part of his 4 year $4 million contract.

Bijan went No. 8 overall last year and received a $13 million bonus as part of his 4 year $22 million dollar contract. So it depends on where in the draft you are projected.

Henderson is more highly regarded than Kyren was, but has fallen from preseason projections that had him as a first rounder. I guess he wants to try to get more in the Bijan range before going pro.
