I'm waiting for the first player who tells the NFL no thanks because he's made enough in college and is retiring from football.
Seriously, I read that Harrison made $2 million last year and is looking at $10 million this year. I could retire off of $12 million (even after taxes), but the money will only go way up from here.
Saw this earlier and found it interesting. RB is the position where delaying the draft as long as possible could make sense.
For those who don't follow the NFL, Kyren Williams has been one of the best RB's in the league this year (rookie).
If you're slated to be a 5th rounder or worse (Kyren was drafted in the 5th round) it makes sense as a RB if you're making more in college knowing that there's not likely going to be a lucrative second contract in the NFL.
Kyren received a $77k bonus as part of his 4 year $4 million contract.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-rams/kyren-williams-77041/Bijan went No. 8 overall last year and received a $13 million bonus as part of his 4 year $22 million dollar contract. So it depends on where in the draft you are projected.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/atlanta-falcons/bijan-robinson-82285/Henderson is more highly regarded than Kyren was, but has fallen from preseason projections that had him as a first rounder. I guess he wants to try to get more in the Bijan range before going pro.
