I think it is the right decision but I'm kind of surprised they left FSU out even with the QB situation given their track record.

ESPN is committed to the SEC for the next decade after this year. Makes sense.

Winning games no longer matters, going to be a mess moving forward.

Do you guys realize that if Florida St gets F'ed out of a CFP spot....... and either Texas, Georgia, or Alabama makes it to the title game........

then you could have a potential scenario where a 14-0 FSU team with wins over Louisville, Miami, Clemson, LSU and Florida would be sitting at home watching some teams with at least one loss playing for the national title game.

Florida St was won 19 games in a row. The only way you could justify screwing Florida St was if they had a weak non conference schedule.
Non conference wins over Florida and LSU and being undefeated should get Florida St the #3 seed.

Yah, that's utter horse **** that they got left out. Talk about earning a seat at the table. If they'll screw FSU like this, they would happily screw us should we win the SEC. This is why the expanded playoff are needed.

I'm surprised that they didn't go with the "most deserving" narrative to put FSU in, given the participation culture we live in now that no longer values merit. Good on the committee for preventing another 65-7 type game from happening.

Even with an expanded playoff, under the new rules of winning no longer being necessary…….you can still get screwed.

FSU got screwed. They showed the SOR between Bama, FSU, and Georgia. They conveniently left Texas out of that discussion. The SOR is below

1 - Washington
2 - Michigan
3 - Florida State
4 - Alabama
5 - Texas
6 - Ohio State
7 - Georgia

So FSU was left out in favor of Texas, not Bama.

ESPN is doing everything they can to avoid comparing FSU, Bama, and Texas so their bias is not exposed. ESPN made this call, the committee is just their puppet.

I think they got it right. But in the end, I think it's easier to screw Tallahassee than Tuscaloosa or Austin.

And Michigan is saying wait a second, we are number one seed and we get Bama and not Texas?

Committee should choose the 4 teams and team they rank 1 should get to pick which of the other 3 they want to play.

Looking forward to a Washington v. Texas game. That should be pretty good.

4th and 31. That TD pretty much was scored against FSU. I bet they wish they had their defense out there on that play.

Michigan
Alabama
Georgia
FSU
Washington
tOSU
tu

tu lost to lowly ou rival. Georgia lost to Gump. tu schedule weaker than undefeated FSU and UW. 100% ESPN corruption.

Not an ATM issue. FSU did get jobbed.

Georgia and FSU should agree to play the real National Championship game and bill it that way. I'm sure they could arrange for a neutral site. I'd sure watch that game!

The top 4 will all be in the SEC/Big10 next year - the only two that matter. CFP won't do anything to upset these 2 conferences.

ETA: I think the committee "got it right" from the imprecise combination of best team and best resume. IMO FSU got ****ed, from a resume standpoint, and if I was in the committee room I would've been one of those ****ing over FSU.
How have you felt every year Oklahoma or Ohio State has gotten in and been torched in the first game? That didn't seem to stop the committee from putting those teams in....

Yep. If Texas has been in our shoes in 2020, they would have been in over ND. No doubt.

It's the B1G (Michigan and Washington) and the SEC (Alabama and Texas).

It'll be close to a home game for the sips in New Orleans. Then, if they win, it'll definitely be like a home game in Houston.

How the hell did they get it right? Undefeated P5 team that played 2 P5 teams OOC (Florida, LSU) gets left out in favor of two 1-loss teams and that's getting it right??

I get Florida was pretty meh this year but they're still a lot better than whatever directional U most other teams would schedule.

Kind of crazy to think a team caught cheating is in; a team the went undefeated is out; and there's quibbling over early vs late losses but only if it suits the narrative of whatever clique is deemed to be popular.

NCAA is the joke everyone knows they are. Reasoning for leaving out teams in past years is now flipped to justify who the committee just wants to put in.

They just looked for excuses to put BAMA and/or tu in. FSU got the shaft just because their first string QB is unavailable, even though they still continued winning? If overall win/loss doesn't matter at all, then just stop the charade by talking about it and choose whatever brainless princess looks the best.

I think the weight of Texas and Alabama politics made a difference. How can you leave out SEC champs and Nick Saban? Well Texas beat Alabama so you can't leave them out. Let's leave FSU out, less politics and they lost their starting QB. So let's forget about them not losing.

That quite a scenario to think about.

What if Florida St murders Georgia in their bowl game?

That'll be the day that a team wins the SEC and isn't ranked in the top 12
