Here comes the meltdown

Do you guys realize that if Florida St gets F'ed out of a CFP spot....... and either Texas, Georgia, or Alabama makes it to the title game........
then you could have a potential scenario where a 14-0 FSU team with wins over Louisville, Miami, Clemson, LSU and Florida would be sitting at home watching some teams with at least one loss playing for the national title game.
Florida St was won 19 games in a row. The only way you could justify screwing Florida St was if they had a weak non conference schedule.
Non conference wins over Florida and LSU and being undefeated should get Florida St the #3 seed.

How have you felt every year Oklahoma or Ohio State has gotten in and been torched in the first game? That didn't seem to stop the committee from putting those teams in....Greetings said:
I'm surprised, but think they got it right.
ETA: I think the committee "got it right" from the imprecise combination of best team and best resume. IMO FSU got ****ed, from a resume standpoint, and if I was in the committee room I would've been one of those ****ing over FSU.
Yep. If Texas has been in our shoes in 2020, they would have been in over ND. No doubt. The Banned said:Kellso said:

Yah, that's utter horse **** that they got left out. Talk about earning a seat at the table. If they'll screw FSU like this, they would happily screw us should we win the SEC. This is why the expanded playoff are needed.
It'll be close to a home game for the sips in New Orleans. Then, if they win, it'll definitely be like a home game in Houston.Tex117 said:
Looking forward to a Washington v. Texas game. That should be pretty good.

I think they got it right. But in the end, I think it's easier to screw Tallahassee than Tuscaloosa or Austin.
That quite a scenario to think about.HikesNH said:
Georgia and FSU should agree to play the real National Championship game and bill it that way. I'm sure they could arrange for a neutral site. I'd sure watch that game!
