i would need to see the portal activity before guessing. as is, i'd expect we are 7-9 wins b/c elko cannot be as bad as jimbo with clock management and OC micromanaging.

i think the low end starts at 9 wins, if we catch a few breaks we could make a run at a playoff spot. but lots of variability in this question because you have no idea who will be leaving or staying at this point.
Expectation at the beginning of the season every year is 12-0.
Somewhere around mid-October, that's re-adjusted to 8-4 plus or minus a couple of games.

This is the effin ride. Trying to predict the future and see how right/wrong we were and how we could do better is an important part of success. If you can see trends to see what is coming, you can get ahead of things.

Depends who hits the portal. If the team stays intact, 10 wins.
If Elko does a good job of keeping the roster intact and is aggressive in the portal, there is no reason to not win 9 games next year. This will be an experienced and talented team that was in a bunch of close games this year.
This is not a total rebuild and expectations should be high. If he comes out and falls flat on his face then its time to be concerned.

Agree 90ags. This is not the early 90s where we had one game a year. I'm just trying to enjoy one game at a time, and I realize there's a lot of parity in the SEC. Elko seems like the right person to lead forward, we have a lot of talent, and we have plenty of resources. LFG.

It totally depends on what the roster looks like after spring ball.
If all Elko needs to do is fix the few holes (Oline, DB), then expectations should be pretty high.
If there is a mass exodus out the portal, maybe not so good.

If we keep our current roster intact, it needs to be at least 10. The whole reason we fired Jimbo was because how few games he won with such amazing talent. Anything less than 10 wins is a disappointment. May sound unfair for a brand new coach, but that's the reality of how talented this team is.
Now if we lose a bunch of studs in the portal, that can change.
