Exactly. I know it's hard to believe that we would actually attempt to hire stoops, but there is a ton of smoke here. Only half assed way of making this better is to come out and say that there was zero truth to this rumor and that needs to come from Bjork himself.

Regardless of if it's "imaginary" or not…it's clear we had no plan when we fired Jimbo. Ross said "it was his decision," which we all know is not true.

He acted strong in his press conference and subsequent interviews only to leave the fan base wondering what the hell is going on behind the scenes.

He can still possibly recover from this with an amazing coach, but the damage has been done and the window for error has shrunken to absolute zero.

He's a financial guy that prob should be an associate ad.

He knew Fisher was failing bit couldn't or didn't help. His job is making sure athletics succeeds. He hasn't done it. Fisher lost his only ally when the other ad left. Bjork couldn't help him. He is responsible for some or a lot of this. Most programs get a lot of help behind the scenes.

Does Bjork have any real decision making power anyways? I know he is involved with other sports, but I thought football decisions are usually made by the BMA's, while he just runs messenger for them.

Y'all are ridiculous. All of his other hires have been absolute home runs! Let the man work and THEN make judgements… there is currently no proof of Ross's involvement in the social media storm last night.

I think it's premature at this point. The decision to fire Fisher should have been made after the Miami game when the team looked totally unprepared and it was obvious that he was telling Petrino what plays to run, and maybe letting him call them, if not after completely wilting in the second half to Bama. Plenty of time to search for and line up a new coach by now and maybe they have and are waiting for the right time to announce, but I agree that it should be soon due to the portal. If this isn't the case he needs to go.

Still think he needs to go. This was a no-brainer hire from the get-go, and we almost got Stoops. This does redeem that blunder, but it shouldn't have taken this path.

I'm very happy with the hire though! He knows the ins and outs of the building here and who was good and who needs to go. I trust Elko to make the right cuts and keep the right people moving forward.

I still can't believe some of you still believe last night was anything more than "insiders" racing to be the first to break a story, even if that story was completely BS.

Do you also believe that Elko was the fall back if hiring Stoops didn't work out? Now that the time line of Elko's hiring is coming out of further proves that the Stoops story was completely wrong.
