Ole Miss just got their second 10-win season in two years. All I hear is how MISS has way less resources and worse recruits than we do.
What gives?

Embraced the transfer portal. Let his staff do their jobs without meddling.

Kiffin is King of the transfer portal.
He has basically given up on recruiting but has mastered the art of tampering with players on other rosters nationwide.
By the the time the players announce they're hitting the portal they quickly follow that up within a day or two that their new school is Ole Miss.
Jimbo could've taken a few pointers on how to work the portal from Kiffin.

Very knowledgeable offense and modern in scheme, good enough defense, portals genius, and wins most of the close ones. Was great at Bama to as OC. too.

He beats the teams he should. It's that simple. No major wins, just consistently beating the teams he should. Or at least until the bowls, where he's lost to Baylor and Tech in back to back years

Offense. He has a plan. Jimbo has a scheme but no plan.

Oxford is an easy place to recruit. He's a Saban disciple who has coached at the highest levels. He has been the head coach at Tennessee and USC….. both Blue Bloods. He took them over when they were in shambles. Saban resurrected his career and he took note. He's a. Winner. He doesn't win over rich alums, he wins student body and players………we won't get him, his next stop is Alabama. He's going to be a playoff contender at Ole Miss every year……and it's a beautiful place to be the man in waiting at $9 million a year

The transfer portal with NIL has simply destroyed the game of old…. As in 2-3 years ago. There is no loyalty among thieves and that's where we are now. As said before, Kiffin is doing a better of at finding hired mercenaries to come play at Ole Miss.

What's the point of developing freshman only to have them take off and use their skills elsewhere.

Kiffin doesn't even know his team. Hell, after their game he just said "yeah they're a bunch of cool guys".

Kiffin has a lot less ego than when he was at Tennessee or USC. I'm not saying he's humble but he's better able to adapt to when things don't go his way.

Won a road game??

Kiffen plays by the modern rules of the game which includes taking a lot of chances (like going for it on 4th down). Jimbo on the other hand, is stuck in the old school mentality where he rarely takes any risks and almost never goes for it on 4th down. He would always talk about it being a game of inches but his conservative style would always keep games close that had no business being close to where those inches would bite him in the ass.

But the biggest difference is in the Oline. Kiffen would have his Oline literally grab opposing Dline around the waist if that's what it took while Jimbo's Oline couldn't be bothered to even get in the way of the Dline about half the time.

He beat MsSt and A&M. If we beat Ole Miss and State consistently, we would be 10-win or close each year.

I'd say Jimbo has both a scheme, plan, and game winning formula. It's always the players unable to execute. When the execution is there, Jimbo always wins. - Jimbo 15:2-3

What is his best win in those 20? Did he beat a SEC divisional champ? What is his best win in his coaching career?

Do people really remember what happened at Tenn and USC? We do, because we had a friend on those staffs. Saban gave him an opportunity because of Lane's daddy.

It will be hype again that gets him his next opportunity. It's a great livin' if you can sell it!

Kiffin ran a very conservative I formation offense at Tennessee and USC he has adapted to modern football.

Ole Miss has put a similar amount of players into the NFL draft as we have during his time there.

Hire offensive coaches that are capable.

agree. Briles has served his time.

Briles is an old man who hasn't coached in. Decade. Kiffin has never been charged with stuff like Briles and is under 50!

Kiffin's goal is to win the game. Jimbo's goal is to run a scheme.

Our O line is the worst in the country. A "mediocre" O line would solve most of the other issues listed above. Keeping Addazio after last year cost Jimbo his job. A decent O line wins us at least 2 more games this year

Kiffin hasn't been to Atlanta either. Not sure the obsession with him

He has still won more games than we have the past 2 years. I'd take that...
