Exactly, let's see how the next two weeks play out.

You should NEVER make a hire based on who the current players like or don't like, or the fear of losing current players. Too short-sighted.


However, how a coach in general relates to his players and vice versa IS one valid criteria, and Robinson seems to have that in spades. I'd like to see him as our coach based on what little I know.

Thread title and post contradict each other. Common sense = hire Robinson?

Seriously?

I don't know why they call it common sense.

It never seems to be very common.

The guy seems like a great guy and I am sure the players do love him. But can he run this entire program? It typically takes someone with extreme levels of drive and a type A personality to run major corporation.

Get the ship stable this week and take care of ACU. Prepare the team and go ruin LSU's holidays with a win. Go take care of business during our bowl game. I know the bowl may not be much with opt outs and so forth, but still...

Do those three and you've dynamically changed the calculus on the Head Coach position.

Do those three, solidify our portal position in both directions and have a list and a plan forward for who you'd retain and who you'd let go and how you'd replace them? You've changed the calculus and earned yourself serious consideration.

Two weeks? It's ACU and LSU. These guys better dominate ACU and finish the season strong with LSU. Two games won't show anything! We always jump at the smallest bit of success (Sumlin and Jimbo both got extensions after 1 "good" season). See what the pool looks like first.
