"We hit the quarterback, I told him after the game I have a ton of respect for him….he took some shots even before this game and shots during our game….I told him he's tough as nails. We hit him, but was disappointed we didn't get any turnovers from hitting him that many times…."

Note to OL…don't allow other teams to hit our quarterback so many times!!!

Our o line is bad enough to get Jimbo fired. Recruiting. Portal. Our money and we can't get 5 guys to protect our qb. Absolutely zero excuse for that.

I know these two things are related but our wide receivers get brutalized also. I almost fell out of my chair when Ainias caught that touchdown pass. Very rare that we complete a pass with separation like that.

Max Johnson and Stephen McGee need an MMA matchup to claim supremacy on toughest QB ever at A&M. Jimbo vs Fran for the undercard of course, for you know, reasons.

Jimbo Fischer programs RARELY field a competent Oline. This season is no different, they aren't any good.

For sure, but the HGH wasn't introduced into the water supply until this millennia. Poor McGee and Johnson taking licks from some dude that was 300lb plus in 8th grade.

Agree on the competent OL, HOWEVER, we have talented OL players that are very poorly coached and likely fits right into Jimbo's scheme.

I support each of our OL players and think they could be playing much better in a good system with a good position coach. Jimbo is the one who hired Addazio, kept him for another year, and is the constant of the offense. Just hope and pray Mex can stay healthy the rest of the year.

Is Addazio the guy that's known for constantly cursing and screaming at his players in practice ? I know there's one guy on the staff that has that rep but not sure which one it is.

Many people don't see this, but our receivers don't get any separation most of the time. Yeah, everyone sees the play where a guy is wide open, but no one sees the other 99 plays where everyone was covered.

I don't get it. We have some great receivers.

Yes, although line coaches generally are really bad about being screamers. I feel like coach Price may have been an exception.

Generally players appreciate the hard coaching because they'll hear way worse on the field but it doesn't go over well when you're losing.

It doesn't seem to be working. I know a much older cousin of one of the o linemen. The word from that guy's angle is it isn't effective the way it's presented . They basically get immunized to the screaming and tune it out at some Point. This is not direct first hand info so take it for what it's worth.

I agree for our receivers are not getting open. Max does need to throw sooner. That end zone TD that was not ruled properly to Wright should have been thrown sooner. Max needs plays that he can throw sooner in the flats, look in throws and quick, etc.

Especially a defense that's ranked near the bottom of FBS (77).

Here's some bad news - Ole Miss is 2nd in FBS in sacks.

Not to suggest the O line is playing well but Max needs to throw sooner. That would alleviate some of him getting hit and a lot of the WR getting hit. It would also help the OL to slow down the pass rush.

He was late on would be long TDs vs both Bama and Tennessee on drives where we got nothing. The long throw along the left sideline to Stewart is a great example of him being on time.

While it might help for our QBs to throw sooner, they are ALL taking shots. It's the reason our starter is gone for the season, remember? It's not like Weigman wasn't getting hit often as well.

This. For this season and last, the QBs have been on their back more than the ball has been in the air.*

*This is more of an observation than an actual stat but likely accurate.

Something tells me Phil Knight's son would not fare well in this matchup.

True. McGee kinda did the same tho in Fran's offense and I also recall Bucky played qb at the next level for several yrs.

It's Jimbo's offensive system and scheme. He has no way of creating mismatches and causing defensive confusion that results in open receivers.

Jimbos plays take so long to develop that if you have to check down to a second or third WR you will have had the ball in your hand over 5 seconds. The routes take a while so this happens on most plays

Well McGee was running the option offense. Fran decided it would be a great idea to run an outdated offense with one of the most prolific passers in Texas HS history. Offensive dumbassery at TAMU didn't start with Jimbo. It's been part of our DNA forever.

This is Jimbo's M. O. most of his career and we act like there's a chance it will get better.

If you want to go there, then really he was a linebacker who took snaps and occasionally threw the ball.

I've never seen a QB actively seek contact with linebackers so he could run them over instead of trying to juke them. And he usually won that matchup.

Yes, Addazio. He Is a real hothead, could not believe Jimbo hired him. He was ran out of Ft. Collins for way more than football HC ineptness.
And temperanament got Durkin fired along with having a player die.
And Petrino? We know about him.
Jimbo surrounds himself with DISGRACE. How in the hell do you expect anything good to come out of this?
This is an overpaid good old boy network, one of the problems with CFB, and Jimbo is doing the Ags no favors by making this ridiculous hires. Fire the assistants, rinse, repeat.

Note to OL coach. When the other coach talks about how many times they hit your qb it's a good time to start scouting out realtors.
