A&M would be wise to be this close and not give Fisher with a healthy Connor Weigman a full season with a significantly easier schedule in 2024.

So wisdom is giving Fisher another season because of the 100-120 million switching cost? I guess that depends on how much reputation and money the BMAs feel the need to burn…

it's a pretty safe bet that whoever starts the season at qb next year (presumably connor) will not start every game there that year (probably dinged up behind a crap ol.)

There are legit arguments about the refs. Like two blatantly missed face masks against Tennessee that could have made a huge difference.

Not to mention the Bama game where holding was not called despite Bama being called for the most holding calls in the SEC heading into the game.

Or Arkansas leading the nation in penalties and penalty yards going into our game only to get called for a grand total of zero penalties.

Refs?

The problem is Fishers inability to field an OL. Fishers refusal to adapt to modern play designs. Fishers unbelievable conservative approach to a game that is no longer conservative.

The over arching root cause is the failure to develop the talent we recruit. On many levels thru out all phases. Combined with the lack of finding ways to play complimentary football. And utter failure to make successful adjustments.

Watching Alabama against Tennessee was a coaching clinic. Saban has been developing his players showing progress week by week improving and his halftime adjustments and 2nd half tweaks are what keep him at the top. It's not about continuing to harp on "execution".

Similar to Bum Phillips quote about Bear Bryant " He can take his'en and beat your'en, then turn around and take your'en and beat his'en."

I've felt Jimbo did a good job developing 2018 to 2020, but very disappointed in lack of progress since then.

If Weigman didn't get hurt, what is A&M's record? We lost to Alabama and Tennessee by one score. It's quite possible we would have just the one out of conference loss and be sitting atop the SEC West.

Crazy to think that's possible with how poorly Jimbo managed those games.

It can be summed up by saying we are bad on offense for the second year in a row and we are improving on defense but not by enough to compensate for our ineptitude on offense.

All of this is more painful because it's clear we have talented players all over the field.

Coaches who are good at coaching adapt... and don't make excuses.

KY ran a single wing with Lynn Bowden (a WR) when their QB's were injured... and was pretty good at it. That's coaching. Jimbo needs to learn how to coach.

He's primarily out-talented other programs (see ACC) in his career. That doesn't work any longer. Which is why he has only beaten a select few programs over the last 2 years who had a winning record. It's quite pathetic in year 6.

Texas A&M - we make football hard. If there is a new way to screw up, a way to make a stupid mistake, we'll find it.

Why? A culture of blind adoration. This brings about no discipline because the football program is treated like gods despite not doing one damn thing to earn all of the blind adoration. This is our biggest downfall. We change players, change coaches, change conferences, change AD personnel, change university president, change BoR, same results. Wash, rinse, repeat.

We are our own worst enemy. We are the poster child of what you shouldn't do. The results speak for themselves and have proven time and again, support must be earned, not given.
