Compiling all of my thoughts on the last two weeks in no particular order...

  • Bryce Foster is incapable of playing Center at this level. 6-7 bad snaps against Tennessee and routinely gets beat in the run game. You could argue the 4th down trip of Max was a fluke or accident, but it wouldn't have mattered because his assignment smoked him and would have blown up the play. Hell Bryce almost tripped over Max lying on the ground.
  • Bisontis is out of his league physically against Bama and Tennessee. We'll see if he comes along against what will likely be weaker edge rushers the rest of the way. He got smoked in pass pro both games.
  • Wouldn't mind seeing Dewberry LG, Nabou Center, Foster RG. Robinson has been bad, too.
  • The offense is being "tailored" to Max in an incredibly negative way. We look totally different. No RPOs, no 3-step throws, no attempts to create mismatches or advantage via motion or route concepts. We look like the 2022 offense since 2nd half of Arkansas. Feels like Jimbo has taken control again even if Bobby is calling the plays. Conner played a bad half against Auburn, but the plays were there. He was bad, not the offense.
  • Max is holding the ball too long. Difficult to tell if that's Max's fault or play design. Have to get some quick throws in order to help him get in a rhythm.
  • The defense deserves better. They played a great game against Tennessee, and with an adequate offensive showing in the second half we would have had every chance to win the Bama game.
  • Not sure where I stand on firing Jimbo. The buyout and the contract is irrelevant to me because I'm not paying it. He recruits well. I wouldn't hate hitting the portal for some guys to compete on the OL, hiring a new OL coach with some tangible value, and running it back one more time with Conner.
  • I hope our studs don't transfer.

Whatever.. bye week means Aggie football doesn't exist right now.

It's almost like you are saying ALL of our highly rated OL are playing poorly. I wonder if there is something in common related to this issue.

Good post. Especially related to Max. I would have expected us to tailor the game plan toward his strengths. Instead we look like we're just curling up in a ball in the corner and hoping we can pull a rabbit out the hat with the outcome. No attempt whatsoever to take control of the game early.

Jimbo had bad OL's at FSU. This is not new. His OL development sucks. As does his QB development lately.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

running back again with a healthy conner, jimbo and some portal additions is just madness.

Nothing's going to change as long as Jimbo dinosaur offense most conservative coach in P5 Fisher is still at the helm.

Foster needs to play guard like he did in high school period.

Watch "The Film Room" post. It's not be 'tailored' to anyone in particular and Max made some questionable decisions, but it's not all him. The OL, play design, WR routes, play selection. It's all bad.

That's what I said. It looks totally different and is bad.

So were the plays there vs Miami too? Offense sucked then too.

I don't think the offense sucked against Miami. Definitely had some misfires but I am one of the few that doesn't think absolute perfection is attainable. We scored 33 points on a good defense and were able to take advantage of some Miami mistakes. Good offenses capitalize on mistakes when they get them.

But there's nothing I can say to change your opinion, so I've just wasted my time.

foster is not a center he isn't quick enough to snap the ball and move his feet he is a power guy should play guard as you stated. that's why his snaps have gone downhill so much the last two game. increase talent at nose and he is struggling to snap and move his feet to block. nabou is the answer he has great feet. kam dewberry needs to play period. he was really good last year and even when he doesn't do everything right he is still talented enough to at least get n the guys way. bisontis might be a tackle maybe but could be a very good guard. layden robinson is really good at power but the rest of his game is average. zuhn is okay. this team misses a healthy featheree at tackle. he digressed last year but if he was healthy and playing this year it would give you a lot more flexibility. tackles are hard to find. all of this could be overcome to some degree if the right guys were playing and they were being coached up. you have to coach to the talent of your players and that doesn't appear to be happening.

There were several plays where our O-Line faired well with their blocking assignments, but we seemed totally unprepared for the Defensive stunts. (That's coaching!)
