Then he's going to remove his mask and reveal that he was actually an alien all along, and he was just hoping for acceptance from Earthlings, but now he has realized Earthlings only care about winning and and money, so he is returning to his home planet. If fired, he gets 25% in two months and remainder paid in installments over life of contract. There is no offset if he gets another job.

Does the contract allow for him to be shunted aside to some lesser duties while A&M pursues another coach? He could still be paid his annual salary, but A&M could start the repair job with a new coach.

Texas did that with John Mackovic, they put him in charge of the UT golf courses, and he lasted a year or two and then left for a broadcasting job and then another HC job.

I've said all along that I think we need to just make him the highest paid recruiter in the history of the world and hire a new coach. Jimbo seems to be a pretty good recruiter.

If he had another offer for similar money.... but he's not done well enough for that to be realistic. That's the way it works... the money protects us from having him poached when we love him, but it protects him when we hate him. That was not by accident.

Under performing CEOs, resign with substantial severance packages that may or may not be every last dollar they are owed. I doubt Jim resigns. I doubt he resigns, and takes less money than he is owed but it's not the craziest thing to think if next year goes badly he resigns and takes a lump sum
