I honestly don't see any of our current OL ever playing significant time in the NFL.

They are terrible, most likely due to the bad coaching they've gotten here I guess.

I miss the Maroon Goons…these guys are more like the Maroon Buffoons.

trey zuhn for the most part has had a really good year. he was bashed by some on this board before the season started due to his play last year while completely discounting the toughness he showed playing hurt all season.

layden robinson has digressed, bryce foster is overrated as a center they should move him to guard and move nabou to center. k dewberry has to play more.

are offensive line is better than last year which isn't saying much but we are not getting what we should be getting out of guys that we're all very highly ranked coming out of high school. that is coaching. our offensive line coaching has been the biggest regression

Crownover and Dewberry have a chance. Crownover is a prototypical NFL tackle who is athletic with good feet and long arms. He'll get the coaching he needs to be successful once he lands on a NFL roster. Dewberry is a prototypical NFL guard with good feet. Perhaps Bisontis and Nabou if they don't regress like others have after their freshman year. Foster is over rated and would rather throw the shot put then play football year round. Robinson just doesn't have the feet to pass protect. Zuhn is often over matched and doesn't have the strength or athleticism to play at the NFL level.

I think quite a few of these guys could be very successful at the next level if they got proper development here...

Unfortunately that's not the case

Dewberry & Foster we're both highly touted recruits

Fatheree, Aki, & Robinson have all the tools necessary

They've all gotten worse as time has progressed bc this coaching staff is absolute dog****

Crazy to think how much Addazio has obviously forgotten since his time at Florida and BC where he built some of the best OL in football.

Or maybe the problem is the same common denominator as all the other failures of this program.....

Right. He probably coaches the OL and doesn't let Addazio do his job.

I take it you've never had a micromanaging boss before...

Someone so stubborn about forcing minuscule square pegs through round holes that he whiffs on the big picture & the project fails as a whole...

I've had a couple of these in my lifetime

Not sure if I think you're lucky or unlucky for not having to go through this....

As a unit? No. Some do individually but they are not consistent.

After the 2020 season, even though we were denied the playoffs, the coaching staff and team got some accolades for a successful campaign. One of the things done was to have Jimbo and his staff do an alternative national championship broadcast feed instead of the regular commentators. Tuned in for awhile and it was to me basically unlistenable. The analysis and commentary provided by Jimbo and the staff were not all that compelling (many posters on this site/Premium provide more and better) and every play the staff waited for Jimbo to say something before they did. I wrote it off at the time to just a bad format or unrehearsed and unfamiliar broadcast amateurism. But now I think it could also be insight into the dynamics on the coaching staff and the comments above about micromanagement and deference to the HC. Petrino before the season in response to questions basically said Jimbo's the boss, I'm just here to help him do what he wants to do.

JImbo is a great recruiter and has an encyclopedic mind to talk "ball" all day long about past players, games and plays. But does that make him a good coach?

I feel for someone like you who has, through pure, unadulterated speculation, created a situation in your own head which likely doesn't exist in reality.

And I have worked for many a micro-manager. Both in coaching and out. But again, tell us all how you know so much more about what goes on inside the program than those on the inside.

Ok I'll play along.... let's assume you are correct & that Jimbo isn't a stubborn micromanager that handcuffs his coaches & players

According to you addazio isn't the problem, nor is Jimbo

So why don't you enlighten me.... why has every single olineman in this program regressed since they came in as a freshman?

Hell just explain one of the train wrecks....

Fatheree, foster, dewberry, Aki, layden

Take your pick.... How/why have they gotten worse as their coaching has progressed?

Texas A&M OL Mark Nabou Jr. was the only Aggie offensive lineman to grade above a 55, at 72.6, per PFF.

Trey Zuhn III - 55.4
Layden Robinson - 40.6
Bryce Foster - 31.2
Dametrious Crownover - 39.7
Chase Bisontis - 17.4

Every starting OL allowed a sack. Most pressures came from Bisontis (6), Foster (4), Zuhn (4).
