I encouraged all of our kids to study in college to either be meteorologists or economists. Told them those are the only professions in the world where you have guaranteed job security, even if you're wrong all of the time.
Well, I don't like to state this, but I'm an Aggie meteorologist. Been doing forecasting for 18 years. But, it really depends on the setup at how far out we can accurately forecast.
We look at a lot of variables and model runs. In this case, all our different models show this rolling across between Wed night and Fri morning.
Sometimes, trying to predict rain for Houston in 3 hours is difficult, but forecasting a major snowstorm 3-4 days out for somewhere might seem almost a certainty. No two situations are alike.
