Looks pretty certain now that a cold front will track across the BCS region and all of Texas next Thursday into Friday. Saturday's afternoon game looks a lot more manageable now with highs in the low 80's and the dewpoints dropping into the 40s.

Oh c'mon - meteorologists don't know what the weather will do this afternoon, much less 7-10 days from now.

I encouraged all of our kids to study in college to either be meteorologists or economists. Told them those are the only professions in the world where you have guaranteed job security, even if you're wrong all of the time.

Well, I don't like to state this, but I'm an Aggie meteorologist. Been doing forecasting for 18 years. But, it really depends on the setup at how far out we can accurately forecast.

We look at a lot of variables and model runs. In this case, all our different models show this rolling across between Wed night and Fri morning.

Sometimes, trying to predict rain for Houston in 3 hours is difficult, but forecasting a major snowstorm 3-4 days out for somewhere might seem almost a certainty. No two situations are alike.

So you're saying it's going to be a Sub Zero kinda day...

We can only hope!

It's going to be even cooler!!! High of 73 I'm forecasting for Saturday! Yeehaw!

Makes up for it not being a night game. Atmosphere should be great. Students should be screaming their heads off. And players should have a pep in their step.

I just laugh when the weather girl says it will be in the '80s and we will need to "prepare" for it. So we really need to remember to take a sweater?

Pretty sure this year the Africans started referring to it as Texas hot.

I am grateful for the much cooler weather because that makes a mid-afternoon game more enjoyable. I am looking forward to going to a very packed Kyle Field.
