Haven't seen this posted, but our three WRs had huge games this weekend:

Evans: 6 catches, 171 yards, 1 TD. Boosting his HOF resume this season.
Reynolds: 5 catches, 66 yards, 2 TDs
Kirk: 11 catches, 110 yards

I'd like to think Evans is a shoo-in for HoF based on his unprecedented accomplishment of having more than 1000 yds receiving every year he's been in the league. If he gets to 100 TD's then it's a no brainer.

I agree but the WR waitlist is pretty full. I can see him getting ducked over for a while.

Can we let him play out his career first?

It shouldn't matter but it probably will. Mike Evans is the least heralded WR in the NFL. He is almost never mentioned when people discuss elite receivers. He just kinda quietly has big years every year despite how good or bad the team/QB is.

Sounds like people assume this is his last year in Tampa. It will be interesting to see if he can find a new team that will give him the opportunity to keep on doing his thing.

This is an issue. Obviously Larry Fitzgerald gets in on the first ballot. But the following guys probably get considered before Evans (depending on how much longer he can be productive):

Reggie Wayne
Torry Holt
Steve Smith
Andre Johnson (very productive, considering the revolving door of crap QBs he had)
Anquan Boldin (maybe)
Hines Ward

There have been a lot of "Hall of Really Good" WRs over the last 15 years or so. Jimmy Smith, Brandon Marshall, Chad Johnson, AJ Green, Roddy White. There's also recency bias with WRs since teams are much more pass happy now, and defensive rules are enforced a lot differently.

By the time his career is over, Evans will be a first ballot HOFer.

Of those guys listed above, how many get in between now and when Evans becomes eligible? I think a better thought exercise is to consider who, in the current crop of WRs that will be retiring in the next 5 years or so, is better than Evans?

Hines Ward should be in the HOF for his blocking alone!

I think a lot of people will rank Julio Jones higher. They'll certainly say he peaked higher. Not sure if he's officially retired. His stretch from 2014-2019 is crazy. Evans' highest yardage season is 1524. Jones exceeded that 3 times: 1593, 1871, and 1677. Jones is also way ahead in receptions.

Evans has (so far) 83 TDs to Jones' 63. 100 TDs and Evans is absolutely in.
DeAndre Hopkins will be one to watch, but I think Evans will pass all of his numbers.

I don't think voters will put Evans in above these retired guys still waiting:

Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, Hines Ward

Over 10,000 yards in his career. 83 TD's. Only lost 2 fumbles his entire pro career. 4-time Pro Bowl selection. Super Bowl Champion.

Still has several years to go. 100% a Hall of Famer and I don't care who is still sitting there to get in. He's better than all of 'em.
Hogs suck, Horns suck, everyone else I can deal with.

has he ever led the league in receptions, TD's, yards? Any first team all pro selections?
He has been consistently a very good receiver but I don't know if he has ever been the best receiver in the league for several seasons.

Over 8 seasons, Evans' averages per season go: 77/1158/9. If he maintains that average for a 12-year career, his stats are 924/13,902/108. The closest of the 6 you mention in TDs is Ward, at 85. Funny thing regarding those 6 for comparison, the career averages are: 1026/13750/79. I think the two biggest factors affecting Big Mike going forward will be total touchdowns and, if he can keep it going, 1,000-yard season streak. If he retires with 10 or 11 1,000-yard seasons and 100+ TD for his career, he'll be first-ballot. Funny thing about Julio, for all the yards, he only has 64 career TDs.

90 TD receptions appears to be the magic number for the NFL Hall of Fame

Evans might reach 90 by the end of this season

To be a lock I've always assumed the necessities are 1000 yard + 100 touchdowns is a good number
