I follow Walter Nolan on IG and I don't understand why he posts things about how he likes other schools and how he would like to be somewhere else. His latest IG story is about how "Rocky Top" was one of his favorite songs. What's with this dude?

got to be honest i like the rocky top song. it's iconic. you can love where you are and appreciate other places. especially when talking about home

Was there as well. 11:00 am game on New Years Day, we were up all night and had horrible hangovers. I remember looking at the size of the Tenn players as they came onto the field and thinking "we're so dead". And we were.

We had the exact same experience. I met an 80+ yr old Vol fan at the bar and he predicted they would throttle us bc they were so much bigger. He was dead on.

Think there's constant recruiting happening in this new trfx portal world. Maybe not directly from coaches of other schools (well, not overtly), but players on opposing teams (coaches might be using them covertly), family, friends and fans.

With transfer portal now affording an easier oppty. for a player to potentially play for several teams during their college career, one has to always watch for this (players devoted to a school is few and far between it seems). Fisher has stated that part of the increased recruiting responsibilities is keeping players on your team that you want.

If Tenn does something 'great' this year, do expect him to get lots of pressure to join them. Just like Shemar Stewart is constantly pushed to go back to UM (his parents steered him away and really the main reason he's at A&M) and E Stew has many tu players in his ear to transfer to there (EStew follows and comments on players all over the country).

Bottom line, out of our control and why worry about it.

Well ... College football is full of potential free agents now going to the highest bidder... if he gets a raise out of it good for him.

And ... in today's modern college football players love for their school of choice probably doesn't make their top 3 list. I'm not suggesting Nolen does not like TAMU but don't assume loyalty today is what it was 20-30 years ago.
