Do they really control the Football program?

Do they have secret meetings in smoke filled rooms?

Is the AD just a puppet?

If it'll help narrow it down, I am NOT one of them.

Or am I?

Just watch the Netflix documentary on Johnny when he is giving a speech at some sort of event. The room was full of old geezers and trophy wives.

We missed the bowl twice. Once because we got sick. Once because we just didn't make it.

Me.

To answer your questions, yes, yes, yes, and no I'm not giving you all the super insider info that only I and a handful of other BMAs who control the entire program are privy to.

First rule of being BMA is to not talk about being a BMA. You think some creative writer just made that up in Fight Club?

To your last question, no, Ross is not a puppet.

Coach Fran learned he had cancer in the early fall of 2021, and had a cancerous tumor discovered in his kidney in 2016. After clearing that hurdle, he had several clean years. In the late summer of 2021, he fell, and ensuing X-rays revealed multiple cancers.

I believe his cancer is in remission.

Petroleum/chemical/mechanical engineering grads that started their own energy/oil/chemical businesses, risked everything in the right place at the right time and have more money than they can spend in a lifetime.

I'm not a smart man ... but ...

I'm 100.0% certainish that the Zoo is the absolute most knowledgeable authority on the BMA subject matter to to get your questions answered.
Wake me up when next year is finally THIS year.

And yet none you describe are the wealthiest BMAs. I love what the Zoo thinks it knows.

I think many of them have pulled back on how much they give and younger Ags have stepped up.
Most of the big hitters do have things named after them.
Artie McFerrin is pictured. One of the best human beings to ever walk this Earth. And VERY humble. RIP Artie.
One of my good Aggie friends has the FB locker room named after him. And has ever since Bright was built. I think that is changing with the renovations of Bright. One example of older Ags pulling back as many have retired.

But BMAs do not control our AD. But they are the first called when $$$ is needed.

AG81, I have to disagree with you. Artie McFerrin was in the chemical business. He may not have been one of the richest but he donated over $500M to A&M. Most to athletics but a fair amount to academics.

I don't know of anyone who has ever given more. The Zachary Family? Claytie?

I presumed "BMAs" to refer to those still with us since the topic was the extent to which "BMAs" control the athletics program, so no, Artie isn't on the list. He was, however, one of the finest Aggies I've ever known. He was very generous to A&M.

And your assertion of how much he gave kinda proves my point about what the Zoo thinks it knows. You're off a good bit.

That's true for athletics, but not for academic space. For decades, the Regents named academic buildings and dorms for each other. A&M changed its policy a while back (within the last 15 years) so space naming has to be related to a gift (with rare exceptions).

So you are telling me that my attempt to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World Fattest Person is in vain because the University will not name a dining hall after me unless I donate money?

After our first disappointment of the season, let's start a Big Mad Aggies club so we can properly vent our frustrations. We can meet right here on texags.
