Any Ags staying in Nashville Friday night and then going to Knoxville in the morning?

If so, how do you plan on getting there? I've looked into a car service and it's $1200 one-way.

I can rent a car, but everyone in our group would like to drink. If there is no other option, someone will just have to man up and be the DD.

It's a brave new world. I can be whatever I want if I just believe it in my heart.

Curious why staying in Nashville? Chattanooga is closer as is Asheville

Isn't that almost 200 miles?

Self-inflicted, but Nashville has better night life, hotels, restaurants, etc.

I'm confused. Why not have your private pilot fly you?

Don't forget Knoxville is eastern time zone while Nashville is central. And for what it's worth, you'll pass a Buc-cees about half-way to Knoxville.

different strokes for different folks, but I'm going to Knoxville to experience the game weekend. Which means, I want to check out Knoxville bars and see how it is on game weekends. Feels like a waste (and waste of time) to stay in nashville and drive back and forth.

Will anyone be staying in Austin for the Arkansas game? Everyone in my group wants to drink and I heard the nightlife is better in Austin than Arlington. Thanks in advance.

Big difference in that the Arky game is in DFW with a ton of options in places to stay. Knoxville is booked on hotels initially looked at flying directly there.

As a beer enthusiast, I cannot fathom wasting this opportunity

I am flying United from Houston to Knoxville and staying with family in Sevierville. There is a Clarion Inn in town and I think they might still have rooms available for that Friday night at around 250 per night. Only 30-40 minutes to Neyland and on game day traffic, maybe an 1hr-1.5 hrs. May want to check on it.

Keep in mind, in Tennessee, only the driver is prevented from drinking during a road trip. Passengers are fine.

So just pull over and switch drivers after you finish your beer?

The way to do it is have a designated driver for the trip there and a different one of the trip back
The guy driving back can drink all morning and at the tailgate but has to stop drinking at kickoff that gives him about 5 hours to sober up
Me personally I don't really like drinking beer in the stadium more than I like to spend for a beer , don't like waiting in line at the concession stand , don't like waiting in line for the bathroom

It's actually a great drive up from Nashville into the foothills of the Smokies. I'd recommend get there early, do Friday in Nashville, drive up early on Saturday to Knoxville and then Sunday drive up to Gatlinburg and Great Smokey National Park.

The weather is amazing that time of year and the leaves will be just starting to turn at altitude in the Smokies

I can't imagine being such a degenerate that I arrange a trip around drinking.

I can't stop going once I've started. It stings.
