Big12 left at the altar?

So if Arizona doesn't come, whether by themselves or as a package with ASU & Utah, then who becomes the 14th team to balance things out? I've seen that besides the PAC schools, next in line was UConn. If you tell me the Big12 loses out on UA, ASU & Utah, and ends up with Colorado & UConn, I have a hard time seeing that as a positive…

I hope PAC stays and Big 12 implodes. No conference deserves it more

The Pac 12 presidents adjourned without signing.

But all of the unhappiness in the Big 12 was caused by Bill Powers and DeLoss Dodds. They're both gone, and tu is out of the conference. I no longer have any ill will towards the Big 12.

I do. Tceh, Baylor. Them, their fans, their administrations and their little donors can KMA. Send them to the Mountain West.

What happens to the media offer when Oregon and Washington leave?

Now that is a bitter ex girlfriend. lol

I am sure the Big 12 will be just fine with their new teams. They will lose some of the primetime slots with ou and texas gone.

I don't think UA added that much to begin with and doubt missing out on them results in implosion. Beyond that, why would anyone hope to limit opportunities for many Texas high school athletes by relegating numerous Texas universities to obscurity?

Oregon and Washington to Big Ten. So this was clearly bull****

What do you think of when you think of Arizona? I think of a school that's perennially bad at football, but whose basketball team can travel to Phoenix and sell out the Suns arena. Impressive, but NCAA athletics isn't about basketball (you can ask KU about that).

Maybe Missouri goes back to the Big12 and the SEC adds Louisville, Clemson, and FSU

Lolololol. What in the world could possibly convince Mizzou to take that big of a pay cut? And why would the SEC give a **** about Louisville?

Quick show of hands: How many are you are going to subscribe to AppleTV+ to get your late night PAC-12 football fix?
Yeah, didn't think so.
That conference is in big trouble, especially now that the Big 10 has almost completed murdering the PAC-12. At least 2 more schools will jump to the Big 12.

I think the Big 12 has surprisingly positioned themselves well enough to survive and be somewhat respected.

Dude. Why?

This makes zero sense. There are TWO major conferences and Mizzou is in one of them.

They've played 10 non-conference games in Phoenix the last 75 years.

They have a historically good basketball program and average 14,000 at the McHale Center in Tucson. They don't need to do a traveling road show.

I'll bet Oregon & Washington going to the Big 10 makes keeping the PAC alive impossible.

yep

any pac schools that have a chance to jump elsewhere should do it.

no brainer.

I honestly hope the PAC disbands. If the remnants pull together some weak collection of SMU, Rice, Memphis or whatever.....there will be 2 very mediocre conferences in the west. But if they disband and fall into the Mountain West, the MW will actually be a fun mid-tier conference

The PAC was a dead man walking as soon as USC and UCLA left.

More likely the remainders merge and adopt Pac name.

For 20+ years, I was a DirecTV customer with sports pack. I was watching late night Pac Ten games on FSNW, FSBA, FSW, FSW2, and FSAZ (in addition to what was already of FSSW). They had wide open offenses, and I loved it. I watched night Pac Ten football every Saturday night.

I regret that the Pac 12 has handled its television rights so badly. First, they went independent with the Pac 12 Network. It's never gained much of a national audience because of it. The result of the network for DirecTV customers was taking away games that I'd been watching for years.

Now they're moving games to Apple+, another network I don't get. Thing is, I've already stopped watching.

This. The Big 12 and I now have a mutual disdain for tu. That, and they are now a bunch of scrappy programs that manage to overachieve with relatively little funding.

I'm rooting for them.

The sips ultimately killed the pac 12. They tried to negotiate a sipcentric deal and force A&M into the pac 12 with them. We said **** you. And here we are just a decade later.

Just think, when the SEC, BDF, and PAC 12 were all on their knees trying to get us to join, we didn't realize at the time that we were the main team that would determine how the Super Conferences would play out.

We told tu to shove it up their butt when they begged us to go to the PAC 12 as they needed us. We chose the SEC and it's now the Super Conference. Best in the world.

BDF is the new Conference USA.

PAC is going away. Prob have to get Cal Baptist and UC Riverside to join. Hahaha. Losers.

We showed we made the right choice as always.

If you'll all remember, when we (and Mizzou) left for the SEC, the two Oklahoma schools tried desperately to join the Pac Ten. They were ultimately voted down by the university presidents because of concerns over Okie State's academic rankings (the two schools were a package deal).

I find myself wondering if it would have played out differently had the conference taken the Sooners and Pokes.
