This is the attitude that has hurt our football team. The lack of support in the UMASS game last year was another case where we just didn't show up to support our student athletes. These athletes give us their all and this is the least we can do to help win trophies.

The least we can do is give them money? I can't think of any other sport where fans are called on to do more than show up, yell loud, and buy apparel. These kids aren't charity cases - they're football players.

Wait we lost to App state at home last year. If that was players giving their all then they didn't have much to give.

I have two questions...

1. Is this a real thing?
2. Is this real?

If it is real, I will only send money each week based on performance in the previous game.

drama.

I was at the UMASS game, it was absolutely miserable weather. Please stop with your self righteous indignation, TAMU fan support for athletics is second to none, esp considering the luke warm product and ridiculous prices this AD has put out for going on 30 years.

To me this is simple, if you accept NIL you do not receive a scholarship and must pay your way through school and whatever the value of the add'l goods and services related to your sport may be.

At that point, the Athlete is a grown man getting paid and paying his way..... just like real life.

Seems like a good option for all concerned.

Shut up and pay the extortion or you will not see the black athletes commit to Texas A&M, as per the cultural marxists in journalism and whatnot.

Looks like they have rolled in a signature on a "digital asset" to skirt that...

Quote:

The innovative platform allows loyal fans to send money to any collegiate athlete via name, image, and likeness (NIL). Ethically, myNILpay is a taxable transaction, fully compliant with NCAA protocol and federal, state, and local laws. In exchange for supporting the player, the fan will receive a digital asset featuring the athlete's name and computerized signature. By digitally signing the asset, the athlete has fulfilled the NCAA quid-pro-quo stipulation and does not need to do anything further.

Do coaches get free schooling? Never thought about it, you would think one or two would pick up a business degree or MBA on the way.

You got that right!! How much is enough!! Even before NIL, these kids were getting monthly payments and if off campus, it was between 3000-4000 grand a month. It was all legit.
Easy guess 150,000.00 free college education. If you flunk out, it was because you didn't try.
All your meals, clothes, shoes free. I could go on.
I do understand keys kids have a lot of pressure on them and it is not easy being a college athlete.
Lots of demands placed on them.
But, how much is enough!!
Paid for my son's education at A &M out my pocket and he will be at Texas Children's Hospital working in the Pediatric ICU.
Pretty hard for me to feel the need to keep contributing to NIL over a game of football!!
Guess I am older and priorities are different.
Lots of good charities out there that need more funding.

Who isn't? 18 and bringing in that kind of money?

Just don't pay and it's fine. No need to question where people send their hard earned money.
