I would have liked him at A&M in this role.

Having a QB coach will never happen. Coach Fisher thinks of himself as a QB guru.

I guess his guaranteed contract was not as guaranteed as originally reported

USC is likely signing him on the cheap. The Cards will continue to pay him.

He'll do this for a couple of years then ride that Tech offense to another head coaching job where he'll have a mediocre record.

"Kingsbury's contract with the Cardinals ran through 2027, as he got fired 10 months after signing a six-year extension. That means that the vast portion of his income is still expected to come from the NFL."

Bidwells are Jerrah's trailer trash relatives…so that's a little surprising…

Why is it surprising that he will get paid per his contract?

I think it's just a little surprising that he doesn't need to work for a while, could take a couple years off to see which way he wants to go, and then he takes that job.

I'm figuring he just wants to do something that keeps him in the game. A lot of folks don't need the money but still work.

there's kind of an unwritten rule that a coach needs to stay in the game in some capacity if he wants to be a head coach again someday

Getting paid millions of dollars by your former employer to live in LA, and work in a low pressure analyst position for a major program seems like a pretty good gig to me.

Still cashing checks off Manziel, we should all be so lucky.

That all makes sense except for the part about living in LA like that's a bonus.

I'd rather live in Uruguay.

Way too competitive of an industry to just quit and come back, gotta stay around it

The fact that he got the Cardinals to the playoffs with a college QB is far more than I ever expected he would be able to do. He's a very good coach. He did come into my Bennigan's after he beat A&M. I just wanted to sound cool. I was in the same room as him one day.

That they wrote the contract. But he really didn't have the key indicators he could succeed in the NFL…which remind me of Romo and Dak.

Getting paid by your former employer, a cush gig under an offensive minded coach in a weaker conference with a Heisman worthy QB? I get it

If you're a normal guy, sure, but the LA experience is a little better when you're worth how ever many tens of millions that Kliff is worth.

Have you ever been to Uruguay? Montevideo and Punta del Este are awesome places, cheaper, easier to move about, safer, and have better standard of living with much less money than LA. LA is a dumpster fire for the most part.
Either I will find a way or I will make one.
