Quote:

Kevin Sumlin is returning to college football, joining Mike Locksley's staff at Maryland as associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach, the school announced Wednesday.

Sumlin was the head coach/general manager of the USFL's Houston Gamblers last season and had three different stints as a college head coach at Houston, Texas A&M and most recently Arizona.

I don't have an opinion. I guess it's a low risk hire for Maryland, but I don't know anything about them.

Glad he's there and not here.
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte

I hope he has success and I think he can if he's got his issues in order. I always thought he was a good coach that didn't handle success very well.

We are so close to not having an opinion on what Sumlin is up to. Sadly, today is not that day.

Sumlin's ancestor and Mike Locksley's ancestor scouting some medieval football opponents:

It's been like 30 years since I saw this movie (which probably puts me way ahead of most people already) but I don't get it.

What does that say about the USFL that Sumlin would rather be an assistant coach at a college not known for football (outside of Austin)?

Wasn't aware of Turgeon. He was a good coach for us. Wouldn't have taken the same level of pressure at A&M but guess it was his alma mater. Sounds like he ran into some down years. Took us a while but looks like we righted the ship with Buzz

His time here has passed.
I hope that he does well in Maryland.

I loaned out my IDGAFF button to one of you -- if you have it, can you please return it?

He was so excited to get the HC position here. Sad that it didn't turn out well.
Our thoughts on the current controlled EXTRATERRESTRIAL reality disclosure process and related US GOV cover-up? Once the uneasy, contagious giggling subsides, how will our civilization and the mislead sheep adapt to this publicly known reality? Are the good Shepherds withholding the truth in our best interest? Perhaps multiple species are involved?

I will always see him as the catalyst that changed the perception of Aggie football for the better. Whether it was the timing of joining SEC, JFF, or any of the great players he recruited, he made (or had a big part in making) it "cool" to come to A&M to play football.

Blue Diamond for you. Sums up how I view it as well.
