GMFB has him on now. Not sure what's being said, but he was fun to watch while at Kyle.

There was a quarter of a NFL season where Dante Hall was probably the best player in the NFL.

As a pure return man.

Let that sink in.

One of my earliest desktop backgrounds was a shot of Dante in which he was making a cut, had a foot in the ground and his body was on what looked like about a 30 degree angle with the ground. He was fun to watch.

Anyone remember when Dante graciously volunteered for the charity dunk booth outside the MSC in the late 90s?

Props to RC for kicking his ass off the team. Wish more of that was done these days.

I recall his HS coach telling the story of Dante saying if they put him on varsity he would return every kickoff for a TD. They laughed it off but of course on his first kickoff return for the varsity he took it to the house. He was a cocky dude and could back it up.

Wish our players only had parking violations as opposed to smoking dope in the visitors locker room.

Dante was deceptively fast.
Always though he was just quick, but he was both.

Ran a 4.2 or 4.3 forty if I remember correctly.

Wonder how he would have fared vs McElroy or Dickey in the 40?

On a track, finish would be as follows:
1st- Curtis Dickey
2nd- Leland McElroy
3rd- Dante Hall
Harry Dunne

4.46

Proving "speed" is more than just your 40 time.

His shuttle and 3 cone drill though were some of the best results of all time.

His high school coach was the late Burnis Simon, who also played at A&M.

I was at the game at Conroe in the rain when this legend started. He returned two kickoffs for TDs in the first half and, I think if memory serves, scored again on a long run where he juked several players and scored easily.

Just a couple of weeks later, he scored on an 80-something yard run against Sam Houston at Thorne Stadium. QB Jason Grein came off the field with his eyes wide open saying something like "Coach, there was no hole, that was all Dante."
