NSD would matter a lot more to you if we were getting last year's class again.

given the vast majority of any class won't transfer, it is still very meaningful

won't stop old man yelling at clouds though.

Kind of strange how we were late to the game with this kid but did everything in our power to flip him......but he stuck with baylor. Then at the last second oregon is able to swoop in and take him. Texas kid with ties to Aggieland and this happens last minute.

He has a prior relationship with a coach there, not sure who.

Last minute flip to the Ducks not that surprising since D. Moore flipped a couple days ago from the Ducks to UCLA - the domino effect . . .

That's actually a great analogy. Blue star for you good sir!

Look at it with our last years class as a case study, a lot of guys played early and have maintained their commitment to A&M and are going to be major pieces moving forward.

Sure we've had some guys depart who could project to be major pieces, but in our case most of those were guys with off-field issues who it sounds like were asked to seek another locker room. The vast majority of kids nationwide don't transfer, and if you're a major program you'd much rather have a chance to lock them in as freshman than try to court replacements in a crowded transfer market.

Threads like this are indicative of a really bad day for the Ags.

Here's what I think.

Oregon's street agents from 10 to 15 years ago are back

I have a feeling he gonna be hitting the portal after a year or two.....

Oregon, OU and Miami have all done unusual stuff this recruiting season (Saban better call out Miami to be consistent).

Didn't one of our top recruiting coordinators leave A&M and go to Oregon?

If I had to make a Top 5 of dewshy schools with dewshy people, Baylor would for sure be on it, and I'm pretty sure Oregon would be too

If you have continuous solid seasons you will not lose players you don't want to lose.

So recruiting is important.

Just don't have a season like this in year 5 would help.

Excellent post. The day is about athletes getting the opportunity to continue to play the game. Not simply about gratifying a fan base of critics, many who never played a down.

There were 1200 in the portal at one point, 900 left.
No guarantee the signees today are not next year's transfers.

Apparently he had ties to a coach at UTSA who has always pursued him hard. That coach is now at Oregon.
