Sherman. He can coach with his eyes closed.

I'd be really happy with Sherman, but Jimbo needs to lock him in the coaching offices during halftime and not let him out til after the game. I've long thought that Jimbo would rarely lose a game if Sherman was allowed to call the first half.

I would love to take Sherman from those years as the O-line coach today. Dude could create and develop O-line at an elite level

Speaking of Fran, recently came across this article back in 2018 which was strange. He said he felt his criticism at A&M was unfair and it was "damned if you do and damned if you don't". The man was prematurely awarded a contract extension for a 7-4 season and subsequently blown out in the Cotton Bowl by Tennessee. He took two of the best passing QBs in Texas High School history and wasted their potential. I'm not sure why he felt he was "damned if you do" because he did very little positive and Texas A&M was very good to him.

Didn't he call The Option play like 90% of the time? Zero creativity

Sherman, where ever he is today (probably enjoying his family) could probably walk in right now and coach the O-line better than Addazio. He most certainly could do a better job of evaluating OL talent and developing it.

Mike Sherman lived somewhere between completely mediocre to objectively awful everywhere he coached. Other than TexAgs's "let's bring back [retread name]" solution to anything, why would this idea even exist?

Well Op what about my dog as OC, and we set up a box with one side says run the other says pass and whatever treat she takes is the play we run or the defense we play.

Sherman put a ton of college OL talent in the NFL. Not sue how that is 'objectively awful"?

Then, in the second half, he'd change it.

Well, if his job had been NFL offensive line scout that would be great. But his job was head coach, a position at which he was somewhere between mediocre and awful

Wish we could hear Von Miller's thoughts on Sherman.

I believe I read an article or saw a TV clip once that stated Von quit the team and went home when Sherman took over, with Sherman not liking his effort or something.

Von's dad made him go back and hash things out.

The rest is Texas Aggie and NFL HOF history.

Now I am getting old, and if I butchered that story or memory, apologies to Mr Miller, sir, and all the rest reading.

Sherman was an outstanding coach, and loved A&M. No integrity issues to worry about with that gentleman.

His issue was that his O was so good and scored so fast, his D was always gassed. Not because of 3 and outs, but because he scored so fast.

And he whipped the sips till the last game when sip ref called questionable personal foul allowing g sip to kick winning FG outscoring us .
