A few of my favorites;
Look at the size of that carpark!
Why don't the stadiums have roofs?
Look at that! That's the definition of an amphitheater.
Gatorade was actually invented by this university.
And Kyle Field - AWW c'mon man look at that! That is stunning man!

They also love soccer. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

In general, British (and other Euro) folks "get" A&M better than the U.S.

That's because our level of fanaticism & quirkiness is totally normal for their soccer teams--it is the expected norm.

Who was the British guy who spent a season following the Ags, then wrote a book about his experience?

Lots of British people can relate to an unhealthy amount of zeal for a sports team that probably won't ever win.

I think those guys just put those videos together for the clicks. Clicks = cash. They know a lot of people over here will watch them.

So you're saying they are like the Jimbo Fishers of putting together YouTube videos?

We do have awesome facilities and resources. Just can't produce a championship caliber team... which is on the coaches.

Leicester Hayes was one of my favorites.

I had an interesting convo with an LSU guy today. His first game at Kyle was on sat after Thanksgiving. He believes Aggie fans are not as intense about football as many of the "Deep south" sec schools because we have many other things going on in their lives where at other place it's "all they've got".

He said the experience was really good . He said he thinks having his kids with him made it better , people were nicer. I told him I didn't think so, Ags are generally nice to everyone unless you give them a big reason not to be.

I also told him I think much Aggie pride is more about the whole A & M experience and the entire school and not just about football. He agreed with that and that's actually when he made the comment about us generally not being as intense about football as the aforementioned others.

Football games at the original deep South SEC schools were always a big social party event, traditionally everyone dressed up in their Sunday best, had servers providing cocktails, food, etc. Culturally different. And it used to be alumni, not tee shirt fans.

I should have said "not as intense about football".

Whatever happened to that lad who wrote a book about his experience across the pond? Josh something?
