Herm was a real football coach with years of experience. "Prime" is a former great, but self-promoting player who is now a self-promoting coach. Interesting to see how this works out. One thing we already know. The media loves him and will give him multiple passes. Until they get tired of his act and then they will go after him like they did Harbaugh and Jimbo.

Seriously, please explain what commonality you see between Herm Edwards and Deion Sanders? Honestly, it's a little like saying Gus Malzahn reminds you of Bobby Petrino. They are both white, they both coach, and… well they probably have the same number of toes. But beyond that…

yeah that's what I was referencing… unless Bobby's motor cycle accident took out some of his toes, too, Malzahn and Petrino have more in common than Sanders and Edwards. Also I guess Malzahn and Petrino both coached in the state of Arkansas; I guess they are practically twins!

Herm was a DB back in his day.. likes to talk about it now, likes when his highlights are on tv, doesn't mind talking about his time back in the day, became a pretty big tv personality (with a lot of personality)…. For me, Prime fits a lot of that in more modern day. If people don't agree, that's cool.. just one opinion.

Well sounds like he and Nick Saban are the same too, then.

could be.. i didn't realize Saban had a successful career in the NFL as DB (like Herm and Prime).. i'll have to go read up on that..

Oh so the problem is guys that were successful in the NFL? That makes sense, yeah, you want to hire guys that were bad at football. That's why everyone on this board is more qualified than coaches.

Prime certainly has a challenge on his hands. It took Saban multiple stops and years of coaching to figure it out. It will be fascinating to see if one of the very best players in NFL history who has a very short coaching resume can figure it out. I wouldn't bet against him...

True. The difference that is skin color is likely to result in "Prime" getting a pass much longer than Harbaugh and Jimbo.

Coach Prime will get it done and show the Zoo once more that they don't know a lick about football.

LOL Deion wasn't hired to mentor THOSE kids, he was hired to mentor and bring in kids who could play D1 football well.

The delivery was awful, but at the end of the day he's probably doing them a favor by letting them get into the portal early for an opportunity to continue playing football.

This seems, at best, insanely premature but probably just wishful thinking. 80% of the college game is getting players in the door and if you think sanders can't get players then you're crazy.

He's a fraud. Ran three private schools into the ground because he thinks rules don't apply to him, gets one kicked out of TAPPS which is hard to do, cries racism. Goes to JSU, has a lick of success all while hyping up HBCUs and saying "I'm SWAC" before hopping on the first big school offer in the whitest town in America like a fly on a turd.

Then in the first meeting he talks about how in the next meeting there's "no earrings, no hats, everyone will look like everyone else." This coming from a guy who calls himself "Coach Prime" with a camera crew following him around wearing a massive chain on the sideline.

He's way better at running his mouth than coaching football. He has to rely on talent because any decent coaching staff will run circles around him.
