As concerned as I am about losing some of our guys I think we have verified that plenty of our top fish are staying. What i'm ready for is who is in the portal already with it opening tomorrow AM. Top rated LB freshman from Indiana (Dasan McCullough), Alabama starting OT (Javion Cohen), and multiple four and five star RB's WR's & DB's like Theo Wease who was down to us and the sooners?! let's go get them jimbo. We could seriously load up with how little this recruiting class is and with experience. Also, not that we need him but DJ from clemson is leaked to be entering as well. It's about to get wild.

College football has become like the NFL, with recruiting (draft) and the portal (free agency). I didn't like the NIL or free transfers at first, but it's making the college game more interesting to keep up with. Deion becoming the HC at CU would have never happened two years ago.

Oh yeah i did read he had ties there. Oh well hopefully we can find us one. Im seeing an oklahoma state Lb may be coming here. 3 star out of high school but had a great season for them.
I think more will stop caring so much about recruitment. A signed LOI isn't the last word.
im hoping they start laying down some ground rules for it all and the players will actually be there for the college and traditions. I love seeing a player that actually knows how to throw a gig em after a touchdown and has pride in the school.

Yes, which has me questioning some of the announcements we are seeing *cough* Denver Harris *cough*.
Also, I think that they need to institute a 2-year commitment rule for the LOIs these kids sign (unless in the event of major coaching firings)

A long list of Tweets isn't a good way to track. How about a chart that lasts by school the number of players entering the transfer portal that lets you sort by grade, position, and whether they started or not.

If you've been suspended you shouldn't be allowed to hit the portal. I do like the 2 year commitment thing.
Why is the ND QB in the transfer portal? Seems really odd. He went 8-2 as the starters and has 2 years left and would be the starter next season. Just a crazy time I guess.
I'm certain that our portal +/- will be a net positive to the team. It is a new age and a new era, in many ways this is as important or more important than HS recruiting.

It is a two edged sword. Bring in a LB and put him ahead of Martrell and he transfers, Same for Moss. The portal can destroy the long build, so it has to be done judiciously. Patience grasshopper.
So basically we are not getting any of these players?
Stuff like this is what sucks about the new rules, but he's auditioning for millions of dollars at the next level. It seems to be a necessary evil with the money that is on the line now.

We had no problem with it since it didn't impact us personally as fans while players were the only ones held to a different standard. Kids transferring somewhere else really isn't any different than the kids we went to school with who transferred in or didn't make the grades and finished somewhere else. Those that graduate or get their ring will be Aggies just like us.
I still don't have a problem with it. You go on scholarship in college to play as a student athlete otherwise you'd just be a student. And not just because you have professional aspirations. There's no point in putting in all the work, hours, blood and sweat to just sit on the bench.
If a kid transfers because he doesn't agree with the direction of the program, coaches, or isn't getting to play, why should they be the only ones punished by having to sit out. The fans don't. The coaches don't. The ADs don't.
Harris played very little this year and if we get Cobb I think he can only play for a year. Cooper and Cobb at LB and with Harris we have some depth which we lacked this year. Ideally we would get Cobb and Hill which would help us out to keep the guys fresh and in case we get any injuries. I am not confident we get Hill and we need more warm bodies in the LB room.
Cooper could use another year to gain some more weight and should do better next year with our DL being more experienced. He uses his speed and Cobb looks to be more of a bruiser so they would pair nicely.

I think something must be going on at Oklahoma State specifically. A 4-year starter at QB jumping into the portal is the craziest one I've seen so far.
