Could / Should some level of surcharge be tacked onto ticket prices to fund a buyout of the Head Coach's contract?? That way the contract could be bought out by the 12th Man Foundation and financed through future ticket sales. Municipalities do it all the time to fund projects via a "special use" tax.

With all of the facility upgrades occurring - can the athletic program and the 12th Man Foundation afford to not act??

Seems like a logical way to get this done if we can't find a Bill Gates or Warren Buffett among our Former Students that is willing to drop the bills to get rid of a coach in exchange for their name on the stadium (the field would still remain Kyle).

Finding 100 Ags with a spare million or more is not that hard. The money is an annoyance, not a road block.

Aren't the same people that agreed to this ludicrous contract still around? Why should the 12th Man pony up the $ to allow the same people to negotiate another ridiculous contract with a new coach? Jimbo isn't the only one that need to be held accountable for this mess.

Over how many years - my thought would be to spread it out over time - maybe over the duration of what would be the remaining years of the contract.

No I think your idea is illogical and punishes people who were not responsible for the extension. Take it out on the AD or the board who wanted to extend Fisher. Don't have the fans pay the price or you will have more empty seats

Exactly ... I had nothing to do with JF's contract, didn't get a vote, or asked for an opinion.

I do believe the AD could inform JF on January 2, 2023, that he has 3 weeks to find and hire an OC who will collaborate, assist, and direct the offense or Ross will hire one for him. That if Ross has to hire an OC, then JF will be up in the press box next season. A working headset is optional.

I didn't take that much intelligence to see the risk in signing a coach to a 10 year fully guaranteed contract. The situation we are in was definitely a foreseeable possibility.

Logic and who gets punished does not enter into the conversation when the question is - do you or do you not want Jimbo gone ASAP and rebooting the program.

Cut Jimbo first, then cut ticket prices by a lot, and hire a high school coach and staff. You can get the same win/loss record as Franchione, Sherman, Sumlin, and now Jimbo. Fans win out by seeing the same performance the last 20 years with cheaper ticket prices since Ags are apparently willing to pay anything to go to the game win or lose. Just like that Cowboy loyalty.

This, the same people are responsible for the last few coaches. Ask them to support a buyout and they'll want a sayin the next failure.

And then the extension…that was the true insanity.

Here is an idea.

Make every ticket for the UMass game cost $1000

All tickets already purchased will have to be upgraded to new price and if not you forfeit the ticket.

Then tell every current and former student the game proceeds will go to a buyout.

See if the stadium is packed
