With all the portal talk, if we were going to see a mass exodus I'd have expected we'd already seen guys in the portal and no longer with the team. I'm sure there will be some. There's going to be some every year in the portal era. Some years bigger names than others. But I'd be willing to bet most of the core of the signing class from last year will be back. The sky is falling worrying about the what ifs are getting a little out of control.

Our program doesn't have enough problems. We need to use our imagination and hypotheticals to create as many as we can.

Guess this is kind of baseless but I feel like some of the guys who had been less active this year (Smoke, Denver, Marshall, Yulkeith, Lucas, White, LJ, Amari) might be hitting the portal. I think the core guys that have shown they can compete (Weigman, Stewart, Moss, Dewberry, Shemar, Anderson) will stick around and give it another year before a "mass exodus" happens.

That was basically my point. Denver, Marshall, and Lucas are part of the suspended indefinitely group. I'd expect them to be gone. Denver and Marshall this was two major screwups in half a season. They need to be gone most likely. I wouldn't be shocked to see Yulkeith return. He'd be seeing a lot of playing time currently if he wasn't hurt. I guess one of the two between LJ and Amari go. If Devon leaves early this year I doubt both jump ship. There will be a RB1 spot for the taking.

You apparently are not aware of changes made this year.

The new rule creates two transfer portal windows in college football and other sports:

• 45 days "beginning the day following the championship selection," and
• a 15 day period in the first two weeks of May at the end of spring practice, May 1-15
• the two windows last a total of 60 days
• "Reasonable accommodations" will be made for players in FBS and FCS national championship games

The new transfer portal windows will go into effect in time for the 2022-23 college football season.

Lucas, Marshall, and Denver Harris were all either starting or playing a ton before they vaped pot in the locker room. I think they were done after that. White is playing quite a bit now. Yukeith played a lot and maybe got injured. LJ is a question. Edited to add that Smoke has gotten playing time also.

Yeah I guess it would be illogical for both Amari and LJ to leave. Moss seems to be the guy who is going to get most carries if Devon leaves. That'll leave a second string spot available. But with LJ not going to practice and some of the buzz around that he seems to be the likely guy to leave. I think the portal will have around 10 guys leave but I don't think they are mission critical guys.

We also need to use the portal ourselves and bring in some older guys into the mix.

To an extent I agree. At the Quarterback assuming Weigman fulfills the expectations we have for him following the Ole Miss game we should be fine at all skill positions on the offense depth wise. The offensive line is an absolute disaster so if we could bring in some older experience from the portal with those guys then that would be amazing. Wycoff has actually impressed me a bit more later on than earlier in the year so I think he might be a suitable replacement for Layden Robinson who will be entering the draft this year. That would leave us with Fatheree at tackle, ideally Wycoff at guard, Foster at center, Dewberry at the other guard, and a desperate need for a tackle. Zuhn has improved steadily throughout the year but if we could find a replacement for him in the portal I would feel more confident in the stability of the offensive line. Defensively I feel like we have the personnel but the rush defense has just been absolutely horrendous and I do not understand why. Feels like it has to be a coaching issue and less of a personnel issue...

I think the portal helps us this year. We need to push out the men who don't want to ball it out and be true Aggies. Nothing against them but you had to think that with the way the last two classes came together that there would be some tough discussions. This is Jimbo's team and we are building the offense around Wiggy and eStew and Moose. Defense needs some some men to step up and take over.

Defense needs a new coordinator is what it sounds like to me...
