Baylor, Texas, TCU all better programs than A&M. Money doesn't buy intelligence.. The BOR has been clueless for years. Throw in a lightweight like John Sharp and a few others and this is what you get.
Correct - our BOR is a weak, easily influenced group. The governor appoints the BOR, I believe. We've had a ton of Baylor and Texas grads in the governor's mansion for most of history. Stands to reason they would never appoint anyone strong to the A&M Board. Even when we had an Aggie governor in office, all he was interested in was getting his cronies in place, whether they were qualified/competent or not.
Until we get some true leadership on the BOR, we are going to continue to struggle in athletics, lag behind in both academic and athletic facilities, and be forced to live with crap like Vision 2020. We have a bunch of folks on the BOR that are distracted by big sums of money, which clouds their decision making. It's embarrassing, quite honestly.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
