By the time we play Ole Miss, it will have been more than 40 days since there was a football game in Kyle field. In the middle of football season.

So stupid. **** Jerry let's bring this game back home.

A&M has won too much at Jerry world. When is this finally going to be over?

Wouldn't this year have been an Arky home game? So it wouldn't have mattered.

No, A&M was home team, it mattered

We wouldn't schedule 4 games away from home in a row. Or at least I hope we wouldn't.

The solution is to play the A&M home games at Kyle Field and let them play their home game at JerryWorld.....

No. Because we should have more games at Kyle Field because that is fun. And because this is college football where games should be played on campus.

I agree. As convenient as it was for me to attend the AZ St game at Reliant a few years ago, college games should be on college campuses.
Let's go, Brandon!

October 29th will be the latest we played our first home SEC game at Kyle Field by a landslide. Below are the dates of our first SEC games at Kyle Field in previous years.

2012: September 8th vs Florida
2013: September 14th vs Alabama
2014: October 11th vs Ole Miss
2015: October 3rd vs Mississippi State
2016: October 8th vs Tennessee
2017: September 30th vs South Carolina
2018: October 6th vs Kentucky
2019: September 21st vs Auburn
2020: September 26th vs Vanderbilt
2021: October 2nd vs Mississippi State

Since 2014, we have sacrificed a home SEC game against Arkansas in every even year, except 2020 because of the contract at Jerry World. We should get 4 home SEC games at Kyle Field every year. However, even if we had played Arkansas at Kyle Field on 9/24, we still would have gone for 35 days until the next home game on 10/29. That would have meant opening the season with 4 consecutive home games, playing 3 consecutive road games in the middle 4 weeks, and ending the season with 4 home games in the last 5 weeks that sandwich the road game at Auburn on 11/12. With that said, the Arkansas vs Texas A&M game should return to the campuses.

In 2018, we went for 35 days between home games. After playing Kentucky at Kyle Field on 10/6/18, we did not have a home game until playing Ole Miss on 11/10/18. We had 3 consecutive road games in a span of 4 weeks. After we played at South Carolina on 10/13/18, we had a bye week before consecutive road games at Mississippi State on 10/27/18 and Auburn on 11/3/18. Unlike 2018, our first home SEC game isn't until 10/29.

Next year's schedule will be much more balanced. We will have home SEC games at Kyle Field against Auburn on 9/23, Alabama on 10/7, South Carolina on 10/28, and Mississippi State on 11/11. We will play at Miami on 9/9 and Arkansas at Jerry World on 9/30. We will have road SEC games against Tennessee on 10/14, Ole Miss on 11/4, and LSU on 11/25. This means we won't play back to back road games away from Kyle Field even once.

The SEC should never allow a team to go for more than 4 weeks without a home game and play their first home SEC game later than the first or second Saturday of October. Next year, Arkansas will play 4 consecutive games away from Razorbacks Stadium beginning 9/23 at LSU and without a bye week in that stretch. They will not have a home SEC game until 10/21 against Mississippi State.

This was a very confusing comment for a moment. I was like "I distinctly remember us kicking the crap out of arky since 2014, either even or odd years"

And then I re-re-read and said ooooh…

Arkansas goes almost 2 months without a home SEC game next year too. It sucks.

I apologize for the confusing comment. I made the following correction. Since 2014, we have sacrificed a home SEC game against Arkansas in every even year, except 2020 because of the contract at Jerry World.

It's nice, no doubt. And the wins in that house have been sweet, especially after the first couple while we were still in the big 12.

But I have no doubt we would have still won almost all of those games in a home-home.

Although I'd prefer going to games at Kyle, I hadn't thought of the cooler months factor

This is a good point.

This game was played on the campuses in 2012 and 2013, but that resulted in an extension of the JerryWorld Agreement to 2024. Because of Covid-19, we played Arkansas at Kyle Field on 10/31/20, and I went to that game.

https://www.goodbullhunting.com/2013/9/25/4765530/texas-aggies-arkansas-razorbacks-arlington-stadium-tv-contract-jerryworld

I agree that this game should have stayed on the campuses once we joined the SEC.

On one hand I like games on campus and F'ville is a great place to visit and go to a game and their stadium is really nice now with the new north EZ complex and stands.

On the other hand, a neutral site "trophy" game is pretty cool and I know the players really enjoy it.

The biggest problem I have with the game is the ticket prices. The face value of tickets is acceptable, but not for the "club" seats that require an extra donation that makes prices $225 or $325 for a regular season college football game. That is ridiculous.

The other issue is the scheduling when we have a "home" game but it is not at Kyle Field and we go 3-4 weeks without a game at Kyle Field.

The first year or two when the stadium was new that somewhat made sense, not any more now that the shine has worn off and it's just another stadium.

If Pig wants to keep their home game there, so be it, but I know we are not renewing the contract. I would even be agreeable to a H-H-N or a H-H-H-H-N arrangement

We aren't going to play Arkansas every year after 2024 if Jimbo was right about which 3 schools will be our permanent opponents (LSU, t.u., and Mississippi State). That's also when the Jerryworld contract ends, so the next time we play them after that will be on campus.

Bigger question is just how incompetent is the SEC schedule maker/algorithm that it continues to spit out schedule with home games as much as 6 weeks apart? And why aren't the ADs and coaches demanding a change ?

Tired argument…only two more years and then the contract is over. It would already be over if we didn't join the SEC and COVID didn't happen. Move on people.

Not sure if they will separate Ole Miss and State. It will interesting how they handle all the rivalry games across the league. Some of them will have to be given up. Don't be surprised if A&M and Texas are not in the same pod. Proximity may not matter as much as we all think it will. When Arkansas first came in our East permanent was USCE. Rivalry's between the Alabamas and Auburns will stay intact. Everyone else will be moved around to make those work. It could be A&M, Tennessee and the Mississippi schools. That doesn't make sense, I fear a lot won't make sense when it's announced.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
They are not doing pods. The 3/6 schedule is not a pod system. There are some similarities, but they are different. In the 3/6 set up, everyone will have different permanent opponents. A&M will have LSU, Texas, and State. State will have Ole Miss, Bama, and A&M. Bama will have UT, Auburn, and State, and so on. Not sure who Arkansas will end up with, but my guess would be OU, Texas, and Missouri. The consensus seems to be that everyone will have 2 permanent opponents that are pretty obvious, but that the 3rd might not be an obvious pairing, partly due to competitive balance concerns.

This is a good point TBH. And I also like the point about saving home games for October/November. Because honestly I hate September day games.

I like the neutral site rivalry game. The SEC and Jerry were trying to recreate the Texas/OU game but because Arkansas was so bad for so long, it was never competitive.
