Anybody that follows OLine play in the game have a sense as to the job Addazio is doing with the OLine? The guy hasn't coached the OLine since 2010. He's been a HC at different spots since then. Can you really go back to coaching OLine after 11 years as a HC? Don't want to throw the guy under the bus because I don't know enough about the talent on hand and how he is as a Coach, but what's the scoop on this guy?

I feel like we were starting to see progress in the MSST and Arky games with establishing the run. We were clearly set back when Foster was out with Mono. If he and Moko are both out then it's going to be a rough ride.

It's truly mystifying that we waited to hire Addazio when we could have had our pick of an up and coming OL coach. Addazio ran BC into the ground. Needed Urban to get him a job at Colorado State then ran Colorado State into the ground too.

Need some people on the upswing of their careers on our offensive staff. No more guys who failed to stick as coordinators and HCs.

Coley can stay if the new OC likes him.

It took us until week 6 to get our best lineman on the field

Clearly things are going really great

We allowed fewer TFLs and Sacks against Bama than A&M Defense imposed on vaunted Bama OL.

O line coach typically takes a year or two to see results. A lot of people thought Jim Turner had lost his touch in his first year here, and when Henson took over (to a lesser degree) as well.

That being said, any line position is so technical that even the most talented guys take a few years before they start being dominant. And we have a very young line (not that you can't blame the rest of the coaching staff for that).

I'm not happy with the line right now, but jury is out for another year imo before you can really say if he's doing a bad job or not.

The OL is bad. And they aren't getting physically dominated, but rather showing bad technique and discipline.

I can't link clips, but we saw Aki get smoked time and time again around the edge as a tackle. He's kick sliding into his pass set while the end is just torching him without Aki hardly even getting any paws on him. I understand Aki isn't an every day tackle, but he's certainly had some practice reps there and he looked like he's never pass-pro'd in his life. He's been consistently bad every time he has played.

We are absolutely horrendous at picking up any sort of twist or blitz in pass pro. I watched Wykoff chase the first guy on a stunt into the backfield while Anderson (I think) looped and had a free run at King. He literally ran after him while the looper filled his spot. Proper technique is to switch and Aki take the pin guy while Wykoff passes him off and picks up the looper. We get beat on that twist multiple times a game because our eye discipline and./or communication is horrible. Achane isn't a very good blocker either which doesn't help the issue.

Foster finally snapped the ball a bit better, but up until this past week his snaps (and Wykoff's too) were brutal. I think we saw Mrs. Foster post on here that coach changed the way he snapped and he hated it.

A lot of it can get ironed out with some time playing together, but I am not encouraged by what I have seen from a technique standpoint. That falls on coaching.

There are a few factors at play with the poor Oline performance and so it is hard to say how much falls onto Addazio.
1. Oline was still going to young and inexperienced even with returning 3 starters and a 4th with some starting experience.
2. Change in blocking scheme from Henson to Addazio.
3. Foster gets mono and misses games and Robinson hurts ankle hampering him.
4. Moko got hurt
5. Zuhn got hurt.

So scheme change and lots of shuffling of the lineup has not helped.

If we can get our five best healthy during the bye week, hopefully they will start to show positive signs in the second half of the season.
